NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HOMOEOPATHY was established on 10th December 1975 in Kolkata as an Autonomous Organisation under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Presently, it is under the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India. The Institute , affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, presently conducts the degree course in Homoeopathy viz Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery [B.H.M.S.] since 1987 and Post - Graduate course i.e. Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy [M.D.(Hom.)] in six subjects viz Organon of Medicine, Repertory, Materia Medica,Practice of Medicine, Paediatrics and Homoeopathic Pharmacy since 1998-99 onwards.Today it consists of an Undergraduate and Postgraduate sections with an auditorium of 800 seating capacity, a hospital having an outpatient dept. and a 100 bedded inpatients dept. along with investigative facilities.

Essential Educational Qualification
M.D. (Hom) Preference shall be given to candidates having M.D.(Hom) in Homoeopathic Pharmacy

Desirable qualification
Working experience in pharmaco-vigilance activities Working Knowledge of Computer specifically, in Microsoft Word, Excel (Syntax & Formulas), PowerPoint, Internet browsing, etc.

Upper age limit
Not exceeding 35 years on the closing date of Application

Remuneration
Consolidated monthly remuneration per month Rs. 40,000/-

Nature of Job
The engagement is purely on contract basis for a period of one year or till any further arrangement is made, whichever is earlier. The selected candidate has to work in the pharmacovigilance Unit of the Institute.

General Instructions and Terms and Conditions:
1. Duration of Engagement - The engaged persons on contract shall be engaged initially for a period of one year subjected to satisfactory performance. Director, NIH reserves the right to
extend or curtail the period of engagement at his discretion.
2. Allowance: The engaged persons on contract will not be entitled for any kind of allowance or benefits except the remuneration mentioned above against each category.
3. Leave entitlement – The engaged persons on contract will not be entitled for any kind of leave.
4. Discontinuation of engagement – The contract can be discontinued with an advance notice of 30 working days from either side .
5. The engaged persons on contract will not have any right to claim for continuation or extension or regularization of their engagement.
6. The engaged persons on contract will not have any right to claim for benefit or preference of their contract posting during the regular filling of the posts.
7. The engaged persons on contract will not be eligible for TA or local conveyance for attending the duty.
8. Retired Govt. Servants while being engaged as consultants shall be guided by CCS Pension Rules 1972, Govt. of India.
9. Anything not contained in these terms and conditions shall be guided by Rules and Regulations as laid down by the Govt. of India for Contract engagement.
10. Institute is not likely to send any admit card or call letter to individual candidates. Therefore, candidates are requested to check the Institute website www.nih.nic.in regularly for latest updates in this regard. Institute shall not be responsible for nonreceipt of information.
11. For any legal matters Kolkata shall be the jurisdiction.

Procedure of Application
1. Eligible candidates may submit their candidature in the prescribed proforma given below.
2. Self-certified photocopy of documents in respect of the essential educational qualification, desirable qualification and experience must be enclosed with the application form.
3. Candidates applying for more than one category must submit separate application form with enclosed documents separately for each category.
4. Director, NIH, Kolkata reserves the right to cancel the candidature of any candidate(s) or to cancel/ modify the advertisement at any time without assigning any reason thereon.

Mode of Selection: Walk-in-Interview shall be conducted depending up on the No. of applicants, Detail schedule shall be published in the Institute website nih.nic.in Last date of receiving of Application Form: Filled in Application form along with the requisite documents must reach the Office of the Director, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Block – GE, Sector – III, Salt Lake, Kolkata 700106 within 21 -days from the date of publications of the advertisement. Any application received after 21 days shall be rejected and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
