Eligibility
This is a general guideline for eligibility for a Summer Research Scholarship. You will need to check the Summer Research Scholarships Regulations for details of the faculty that is offering your project of interest
- are an undergraduate student who has completed at least two years of an undergraduate degree either at the time of application for this scholarship (some faculties – check the regulations) or by the time of take-up of the award in December 2016 (some faculties – check the regulations) or
- are a postgraduate student who is undertaking a postgraduate bachelor (honours) or postgraduate diploma programme (some faculties) and
- are either currently enrolled at a New Zealand university or enrolled in an undergraduate degree at an international institution in 2016
- have a Scholarship GPA of 6.00 or above over your two most recent years of full-time graded study (or equivalent). Māori or Pacific students are required to have a GPA of 5.5 or above over your two most recent years of full-time study (or equivalent)
- have identified a clearly defined project and suitable supervisor willing to supervise the project. For the Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries,
Applying for a Summer Research Scholarship
1) Look at the projects available and select the project(s) that interest you. You can apply for projects in more than one faculty but you can only hold one scholarship.
2) Read the Summer Research Scholarships Regulations and check that you meet the eligibility conditions for the faculty that is offering your project of interest.
3) Contact the project supervisor to discuss the project (please check you are eligible for a Summer Research Scholarship before to contacting the supervisor).
