DBT Fellowship for Pharma, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology at NIPER

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for the following temporary position under the project entitled “DEVELOPMENT OF NOVEL IL-23/TNF-α BISPECIFIC DOMAIN ANTIBODY (BiSpekDAb) FOR ASTHMA” under BioE3-Precision Biotherapeutics-monoclonal antibodies.” sponsored by DBT, New Delhi [GP-494] under Prof. Abhay H. Pande, HoD, Department of Biotechnology, NIPER-SAS Nagar.

These positions are purely on temporary basis initially for a period of six months, (extendable further for six more months subject to satisfactory progress, institutional needs and financial provisions) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.

Research Associate (RA) - 01 post
Age Limit : 40 years (as on the date of Walk-in-Interview)
Remunerations : Rs. 58,000/- p.m.+ HRA, if applicable, as per DST norms.
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. (Pharmacology or Toxicology). Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D thesis in the above subjects will also be eligible (along with proof of submission) to apply. OR First-class Post Graduate (PG) degree including M. Pharm./ M.Tech./ M.S. (Pharm) or equivalent in Pharmacology or Toxicology with at least 03 years of research/teaching experience after Post Graduate (PG). Candidate must have at least one research paper in a science citation indexed (SCI) journal.
Desirable Qualification : Hands-on experience in animal handling and in vivo studies, including drug/biologic administration, blood and tissue collection, sample processing; experience in preclinical pharmacology, toxicology, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) studies in inflammatory- mediated disease models such as asthma, histopathological analysis, ELISA, cell culture, and basic molecular biology techniques.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 post
Age Limit : 28 years (as on the date of Walk-in-Interview)
Remunerations : Rs. 37,000/- p.m.+ HRA, if applicable, as per DST norms.
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. In Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology or M.S. (Pharm.) / M.Pharm / M.Tech. in Biotechnology. Minimum CGPA of 6.75 (or 60% marks) for General category/OBC, 6.25 (or 55% marks) for SC/ST, 5.75 (or 50% marks for physically handicapped (PH) candidates on a 10-point scale in the qualifying examination. and NET / GATE / CSIR / UGC / ICMR / DBT or any other relevant/equivalent nature of test qualified.
Desirable Qualification : Hands-on experience in protein expression from prokaryotic/eukaryotic cells, protein purification, SPR, cellular assays, and basic molecular biology techniques, etc.

• Only eligible Indian nationals can apply for the positions. 3. The engagement is full time and purely on temporary basis for all intent and purposes for an initial period of six months, (extendable further for six more months subject to satisfactory progress, institutional needs and financial provisions) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.
• The engagement will not establish any right/claim for regularization/absorption against any vacant post in the Institute.
• The candidate(s) who fulfil the eligibility criteria may appear for a walk-in-interview along with the application form to be held on 16.09.2026 (Wednesday); (i) for RA 02:30 pm onwards
(ii) for JRF 4:30 p.m. pm onwards in Room No. 108, Block-F, Deptt. of Biotechnology, NIPER - S.A.S. Nagar – 160062 (Punjab). The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before coming for Walk-in- Interview, as ineligible candidates would not be interviewed.
• Candidates appearing for Walk-in-Interview are required to bring duly filled application form in the prescribed proforma with latest passport size photograph pasted on it along with attested copies of testimonials / degrees / certificates etc. in support of the averments made in the qualification, experience and other columns in the application form. Candidates appearing for Walk-in-Interview must ensure that they are fulfilling the eligibility criteria. The duly filled application form (separately for both the positions, if any candidate wish to appear for both the positions) must be submitted at the time of the registration from 01:30 PM to 02:15 PM in the same room (Room No. F-108, Block-F). The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates would not be interviewed.

• The selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in interview. 9. The candidate(s) attending the interview must fulfil the eligibility criteria and should bring attested copies of testimonials / degrees / certificates in support of the averments made in the qualification & experience etc. along with Demand Draft of requisite application fee, if applicable, as mentioned below.
• The candidature will be considered as invalid, ab-initio, in case he/she does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. Candidate should satisfy himself/herself regarding the possession of required qualification, age, experience, etc., as stipulated above, before appearing in interview.
• Candidates with incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures i.e. self- attested copies of degree/certificates/marks sheets/experience certificate/reprint of important publications (if any), without photographs, signatures, and prescribed fee will not be allowed to appear in Walk-in-Interview.
• Candidates shall have to produce original documents/testimonials at the time of the interview, failing which, such candidates shall not be allowed for interview. The original certificates/degrees etc. of the candidate(s) are subject to verification before joining, in case of selection.

• The application fee as detailed below is required to be submitted at the time of the interview in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Director, NIPER-SAS Nagar’ payable at SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh :
i. Application fee for General and OBC category candidates: Rs. 500/-
ii. Application fee for SC/ST/PWD/female candidates : NIL

• Application fees in other forms will not be accepted.
• Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time.
• Confirmation for attending the Walk-in-Interview can be dropped at recruitmentcell@niper.ac.in with a copy to apande@niper.ac.in.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.
• The Institute reserves the right to withdraw advertised position at any time without assigning any reason. Institute also reserves the right to fill or not to fill position and its decision in this regard shall be final.
