NIPER invites Assistant Professor, Professor, Associate Professor

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), Hyderabad (Established in the year 2007) is a prestigious educational institution of national importance under the aegis of Dept, of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. NIPER, Hyderabad conducts courses in MS (Pharm), M.Tech (Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Sciences and MBA (Pharm) in Pharma Management for Two years. Students are selected through a national entrance test. Research opportunities also exist for those who would like to pursue their Doctoral Degree. The Institute is mentored by CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad a leader in Chemical Technology well known all over the world.

NIPER is now inviting applications for faculty and other position on contractual basis intially for a period of one year which is likely to continue based on the performance of the selected candidate. Candidates will be paid handsome consolidated emoluments.

MS (PHARM) MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY

Assistant Professor

Age Limit (Yrs): 45
Consolidated remuneration/month range between: Rs.55000/- to Rs. 65000/- + TA
Minimum Educational qualifications / skills/experience required for eligibility: Ph.D with 1^st Class or equivalent at the preceding degree (M.S. (Pharm) / M Pharm) in the appropriate branch having Pharma Industrial/ Research experience) with good academic record.
1 year post Ph.D experience at the level of lecturer/ Assistant Professor at PG level / industrial / research / post doc experience.
Candidate should possess good exposure to quantum mechanics, physical organic chemistry, structure and ligand based drug design techniques and proven expertise in any one of the above areas. Job involves teaching Master’s students and guiding students for dissertation work. Preference will be given to the candidate with experience in organic chemistry and molecular modeling. Candidate is expected to work on interdisciplinary areas of Drug Design and Discovery.

Minimum Educational qualifications / skills/experience required for eligibility: Ph.D with 1st Class or equivalent at the preceding degree (M.S. (Pharm) / M Pharm/ M.Sc) in the appropriate branch having Pharma Industrial/ Research experience) with good academic record.
10 years post Ph.D experience in Teaching / Industrial/ Research experience out of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent at P.G level in Academic / Research Institutes
8 years post Ph.D experience as above of which 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor at PG level or equivalent for Associate Professor.
Strong background in developing and validation of analytical techniques in pharmaceutical formulations employing modern analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC/MS etc. Familiarity with various regulatory guidelines such as ICH, FDA, GMP etc is essential. Research experience, including guiding at Ph.D level, supported by publication in journals of high impact factor is essential.

Strong background in the area of regulatory toxicology/ pharmacology/ histopathology/ immunohistochemistry/ in vivo and in vitro techniques for assessment of toxicity/ GLP Toxicology, Genotoxicity and other Pharmacology related areas. Publications in peer reviewed journals of high impact factor are desirable.

M.TECH (PROCESS CHEMISTRY)

Assistant Professor

1 year post Ph.D Research/ Teaching/ Industrial R&D experience in the relevant area. Strong background in teaching and carry out the research work in the field of bioprocess technology, such as industrial important microbial metabolites (e.g., Baker’s yeast, ethanol, polysaccharides nucleosides, etc.,); enzyme technology; immobilized enzyme engineering. Also ability to teach and work in the area of Biochemical engineering like kinetics of microbial growth, agitation and aeration, sterilization and control of bioprocess scale-up techniques. Drugs and pharmaceutical industry, synthetic bulk drug technology and experience in handling pilot plant studies.

Strong background in applying various management principles to production in pharmaceutical industry. Specialization in Marketing, International business, Regulatory / Human Resource Management from a reputed Management Institute/ University with Pharmacy related background is desirable.

1. Director, CSIR-IICT (Mentor Institute for NIPER, Hyderabad) reserves the right to relax any of the criteria for selection, in case candidate is meritorious and experienced.
2. Preference will be given to those who are working as Lecturers/Assistant Professors/ Associate Professors in P.G. Colleges.
3. In case suitable candidates are not available for the positions, the positions will be filled in lower positions i.e. associate Professor / Lecturer with appropriate emoluments.
4. Age is relaxable in respect of SC/ST/OBC as per rules and regulations and in case of exceptionally meritorious and retired professors from Universities/Govt P.G. Colleges and Scientists -G level from scientific institutes (upto 65 years)
5. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview, the Institute reserves the right to place reasonable limits on the total number of candidates to be called for interview.
