Post : Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) (One position only)
Applications are invited for the one position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) for the following time-bound sponsored project as per the details given below
Name of the project & Duration : “Multi-stage vaccine candidate for prevention of Plasmodium vivax Infection in humans and blocking mosquito development to minimize its community transmission” funded by ICMR Tenable till -30.06.2027
Educational Qualifications : PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Life Science, Immunology.
Desirable : Experience in handling small animals, Mouse IV injections and organ extraction. Immunological techniques like FACS, ELISPOT, ELISA etc., Molecular techniques: DNA and RNA purification, Quantitative PCR, BLI etc. Mosquito handling: Plasmodium infection and sporozoite extraction from salivary gland.
Job description : Person will be responsible for Antigen-formulation including microparticle preparation, Immunization, Sera collection and Immune response analysis (ELISA for Antibody and FACS for T cell activation). Cytokine analysis by ELISPOPT and FACS, Avidity test by BLI, immunized mice challenge with sporozoites, and T cell memory analysis. RNA isolation and QPCR, Mosquito infection with Plasmodium parasites, sporozoite extraction for challenge studies and in vitro sporozoite neutralization assays. There may be other responsibility as per the need of the project, for example progress report preparation etc.
Emoluments : The selected candidates will draw consolidated emoluments as per Institute Rules, depending upon qualifications & experience Rs. 56,000/- per month plus 27% HRA (As sanctioned by the funding agency)
General Terms & Conditions
1. The candidates selected for the above posts will be on contract for one year or duration of the project whichever is shorter, at a time.
2. No hostel/ housing facility will be provided.
3. Applicants may clearly mention the category they belong to i.e. SC/ST/OBC/PH and attach documentary proof of the same.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, if called for.
5. Apart from sending application in the prescribed format given below, candidates should send complete Curriculum Vitae along with the names of three referees. Curriculum Vitae should contain details of the experimental expertise and list of publications.
6. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
7. The Interviews will be held in offline/online mode.
