Life Sciences Recruitment at NIPGR

The facility is affiliated with National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR) and serve to facilitate genotyping services with private service providers and then advanced these, in a focused way, to meet the goal of food and nutritional security through genomics led breeding. The fundamental principle is relatively simple create and charter an entity with express purpose of serving crop or   plant varietal genotyping and characterization in India. It will also help to overcome legal hurdles in Material Transfer, IPR protection, etc.

Post : Project Associate-I (PA-I) - 01 post

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up purely temporary position of one Project Associate-I (PA-I) in the Short-Term Research Fellowship programme, under the supervision of Dr. Vineet Gaur, Scientist, BRIC-NIPGR. The details of the position are as under.

Upper age limit : 35 years 

Essential Qualification : Candidates must meet the criteria specified in the DST-OM SR/S9/Z05/2019 dated July 10, 2020, and hold an M.Sc. degree in any branch of Biological or Life Sciences with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA. A consistent first-division academic record throughout their career is required. Applicants with experience in protein biochemistry (especially protein-DNA interaction), molecular biology techniques (such as cloning), and proficiency in basic bioinformatics tools are highly desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience working with yeast systems. 

Project Description : The project focuses on proteins participating in DNA repair and recombination, studying protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions using a combination of biochemical and biophysical approaches.


The Fellowship amount for the above position will be as notified by DST vide above mentioned OM dated July 10, 2020. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC- NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The position may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of BRIC- NIPGR.

E-mails with multiple attachments will not be entertained. The shortlisted candidates will be informed through email. A web interview will be conducted, and a link with the date and time of the online interview will be emailed to the shortlisted candidates only. Canvassing in any form or bringing political or otherwise influence will disqualify the candidate(s).
