The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

Applications are invited for the following purely temporary post on contractual basis under ICMR funded research scheme entitled, “Investigating the therapeutic potential of solid lipid nanoparticles encapsulated siRNA mediated NF-kB silencing and its role in pharmacoresistance in rat model of refractory status epilepsy” at PGIMER, Chandigarh, under Dr. Lekha Saha, Principal Investigator, Professor, Department of Pharmacology as per details given below.
Stipend / Consolidated salary : As per ICMR rules Rs. 56000/-p.m + HRA 18% (5% Salary increase in 3rd year)
Essential Qualification : 1. First class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees.
2. Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees with PhD
Desirable : Research experience in Pharmaceutics, in vitro cell culture, molecular-based techniques, and animal handling
Age limit : Not exceeding 35 years of age *
Age relaxation as per ICMR Guidelines to women/SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories on production of appropriate certificate.
Duration : Initially up to 1 year and extendable up to completion of project

2. No Objection Certificate from current employer is required.
3. No traveling and other allowances will be paid to the candidate for interview or for joining the post.
4. The candidates will initially be shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria as per ICMR guidelines and the desirable work experience. Only short-listed candidates will be called for an interview on 29th January, 2024. If number of candidates is more, a written test might be taken on the date of interview only.
5. The decision of the Competent Authority regarding the selection of the candidate will be final.
