Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was d under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India.
Post : Raja Jwala Prasad Post - Doctoral Fellow
In reference to letter No. SRICC/RJP-PDF/2023-23/6098 dated 26/12/2023 from SRICC, IoE, BHU, applications are invited for one post of "Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellowship (RJP-PDF)’’ in the Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu university, Varanasi. This fellowship is initially sanctioned for the duration of 12 months under the Institute of Eminence (IoE) scheme and is purely temporary and may be extended for another year based on performance and the availability of funds under loE. The following eligibility criteria must be met for considerations.
Essential Qualifications
Essential : 1. Ph.D. in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Zoology from Indian University / Institute with NIRF ranking of up to 20 or those who have done PhD from abroad.
2. The candidate must have at least two original research publications in Q1 or Q2 journals or SCOPUS / Web of Science listed journals.
Desirable : Preference will be given to the candidates having research experience in “Biomolecular NMR spectroscopy.” The candidate should have excellent experience in purification of proteins and enzymes. In addition, experience with membrane protein expression, purification and analysis will be preferred.
Age : 45 years (5 years relaxation for female SC/ ST/physically handicapped candidate and 3 years for OBC candidate)
Emoluments : Rs. 60,000/- p.m. + HRA (Rs. 10,000/- p.m.) and Contingency of Rs. 50,000/- per year
