Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. Post: Principal Project Associate, Senior Project Associate, Technical Assistant
Applications are invited for the posts of Senior / Principal Project Associates, Technical Assistant, Laboratory attendant and Multitasking staff purely on contractual basis under DST Sponsored SATHI Program. Engagement will be initially for six months, but extendable depending upon the performance of the selected candidates. The posts are temporary and co-terminus with the project. Essential qualifications and upper age limit are mentioned below.
The relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit will be granted to SC/ST/Differently Abled/Female candidates. The upper age limit may be relaxed for an additional duration of earlier work experience in a projcct/scheme in B.H.U. subject to the prevalent University rules. Reservation will be applicable as per GOI rule.

Essential
(1) Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc or Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent: and
(2) Eight Years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic institutions or Science and Technology organizations and scientific activities and services
OR
(3) Doctoral degree in Science/ Engineering/ Technology/ Pharma/MD/ MS from a recognized University or equivalent:and
(4) Four Years’ experience in Research and Development in industrial and Academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services.
Desirable : Experience of operating, maintenance and/or service provision (including data analysis) of at least one of the following equipment: Nano- lithography system for 3D Nano- and large area optoelectronic device fabrication and characterization, and iCPMS.
Age limit : The candidate must not exceed 40 years on the last date of application. Age may be relaxed for experienced and well qualified candidates.
Job Description : The Project Associate is expected to operate and maintain one or more of the listed equipment. S/he will receive samples from users, process them, analyze on the assigned equipment, analyze and provide data/results/interpretation to the users in a user-friendly manner. S/he is also expected to obtain NABL/GLP accreditation of the assigned equipment-based analysis and operate them as per the terms and conditions of accreditation.
Selection Process : Through Interview and Personal Interaction by a duly constituted Selection Committee. In case of high number of applicants, a written test may also be conducted.

Qualifications Required
Essential : M. Sc. or B.Sc. with four years experience with relevant area or Diploma in engineering/ technology in mechanical/ electrical /electronic/ instrumentation related trade with three-year experience in the relevant area.
Desirable : M.Sc. with minimum 55% marks in subjects/disciplines of Life Sciences (including Botany/ Zoology /Biotechnology./Biochemistry) / Chemistry /Physics / Geology Candidate should have experience preferably on the operation and interpretation of data of Ion Chroniatograph/HRMS/IRMS/NMR. Photoacoustic imaging/confocal laser scanning microscopy/ ICPMS or related equipment.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years (as per BMU rules)
Job Description : To operate and maintain analytical and/or imaging Equipment such as Ion Chromatograph/HRMS/IRMS/NMR/photoacoustic imaging/confocal laser scanning microscopy/ ICPMS or related equipment and in interpreting their data.
Selection Procedure : Selection procedure for the post of Technical Assistant will be on the basis of a written objective type test of 100 marks. Duration of the test will be one Hour. Based on the score of candidates in the written objective type test, five candidates against one post shall be called for a skill test in the relevant area which would be of qualifying nature.
