Regional Centre for Biotechnology is an institution of national importance and statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India with regional and global partnerships synergizing with the programmes of UNESCO as a Category II Centre. The primary focus of RCB is to provide world class education, training and conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create high quality human resource in disciplinary and interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology in a globally competitive research milieu.
Post : Project JRF position
Title of Project : Targeting riboswitches with synthetic small molecules for development of anti-tubercular drugs.
Duration : Up to 1 year and can be extended depending on performance till the project duration (3 years).
Age Limit : Below 30 Years
No. of Position : One
Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or equivalent with National Level JRF eligibility test such as NET, GATE, etc. qualified (The student having prior experience in organic synthesis, purification, characterization will be preferred).
Desirable Qualifications : Strong practical and theoretical knowledge in organic synthesis, separation / purification techniques such as distillation, crystallization, extraction, chromatography etc., experience in operation of equipment to aid in chemical synthesis, purification and interpretation of spectral data obtained for techniques like NMR, MS, IR, and HPLC etc., knowledge to follow safe lab practices and SOPs. Candidate should be hardworking and team player with interpersonal skills.
Emoluments : Rs. 31,000/- + 16% HRA per month
