The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a not-for-profit public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research and policy development in the area of Public Health.
The PHFI focuses on broad dimensions of public health that encompass promotive, preventive and therapeutic services, many of which are frequently lost sight of in policy planning as well as in popular understanding.

Job Description:
- To liaison with office of Chief Medical and Health Officer of Sehore, District Mental Health Programme team of Sehore and other organizations working in Sehore district for smooth implementation of PRIME.
- Design and implementation of capacity building activities/trainings for health care workers and other interventions on issue of mental health as per Mental Health Care Plan developed by PRIME India.
- Coordinate all activities at district level with the team and partner organizations
- Work closely with CHCs, PHCs and community health staff of Sehore district for proper implementation, supportive supervision and monitoring of activities.
- Undertake advocacy and community engagement activities for increased mental health coverage.
- Leading and supervising a team of Junior Researchers and Mental Health Cell Coordinators appointed under the PRIME project in the district.
- Data collection by using both qualitative and quantitative methods and verification of data.
- Supervise data collection process by filed staff.
- Assist PRIME team in the planning and design of PRIME research activities for Sehore.
- Assist PRIME team in developing and finalizing research instruments.
- Assist PRIME team in translation and validation of research instruments into local language.
- Assist in data coding, editing and data entry
- Assist in data analysis and interpretation
Qualification and experience required
- Post Graduate in psychology, relevant social or health sciences. Candidates with qualification in the field of mental health would be given preference.
- Experience in research coordination, implementation of health projects and liaisoning with Govt. and nongovernmental organization
- Experience in data collection, processing and monitoring of research field activities
- Experience in coordination of public health programmes and research at grass root level
Required Skills:
- Fluency in spoken and written Hindi and English
- Willingness to be based at Sehore and ready to take up extensive filed work in remote areas of the district.
- Proficiency in the use of word processing and email
- Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English
- Pro-active, flexible and confidential approach is essential
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Compensation: Depends on the qualification and experience of the incumbent selected, subject to a maximum of Rs. 27,000/- per month.
