The facility is affiliated with National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR) and serve to facilitate genotyping services with private service providers and then advanced these, in a focused way, to meet the goal of food and nutritional security through genomics led breeding. The fundamental principle is relatively simple create and charter an entity with express purpose of serving crop or plant varietal genotyping and characterization in India. It will also help to overcome legal hurdles in Material Transfer, IPR protection, etc.

Candidates are invited to appear before the selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of (1) one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the J.C. Bose fellowship, and (2) one Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) in the Short-Term Research Fellowship programme, under the supervision of Dr. Ashverya Laxmi, Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the position are as under
Essential Qualification
Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/06/2023 and having Master’s degree in any branch of Biological / Life Sciences with 60% (or Equivalent) marks or an equivalent degree in any branch of Biological / Life Sciences with two years post-master’s degree experience in research are eligible to apply. Furthermore, Candidates with prior experience of working with Arabidopsis and molecular biology techniques, such as-Gene cloning, qPCR, LC-MS, GC-MS, ChIP, protein interaction, and/or plant tissue culture techniques will be given preference. Publication in peer reviewed journal will be highly desirable.
The Fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The position may be terminated any time by giving a month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi – 110 067 on January 16, 2025 at 11: 00 a.m. along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form along with the educational marksheet, certificate etc. must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on January 16, 2025. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, publications in copy and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts.
Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
