Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has been serving as the National Coordination Centre (NCC) for the Materiovigilance Programme of India (MvPI) since January 2018. Its primary mission is to ensure the safety of patients, users, and third parties concerning medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics. Recently, IPC-MvPI received provisional approval from the Quality Council of India (QCI) to function as a certification body for ICMED 13485 (ISO 13485 requirements plus additional requirements specified under the scheme) and ICMED 9000 (ISO 9001 requirements plus additional scheme-specific requirements). This approval enables IPC-MvPI to assess the quality management systems of medical device industries, thereby enhancing device quality and ensuring consumer safety.
Post : Pharmacopoeial Scientist
Applications are invited for the engagement of contractual position of Pharmacopoeial Scientist at Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ghaziabad through Manpower Resource Outsourcing Services Providing Agency.

Qualification / Experience :
• PhD degree in Molecular Biology/Genomics or equivalent & handling of modern analytical instruments (Gene sequencing, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, Gel Documentation & Lyophilizer etc.)
• Good Knowledge of computers (or)
• Master’s degree in Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Genomics or equivalent with Minimum 3 Year experience in handling of modern analytical instruments (Gene sequencing, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, Gel Documentation & Lyophilizer etc.)
• Good Knowledge of computers
Nature of Duties : • Handling & Storage of Microbial Reference Cultures at Microbiology Division.
• Genotypic sequencing of Microbial Reference Cultures at Microbiology Division
• Isolation, Purification and Characterization of New Microbial Reference cultures for IP at Microbiology division
• Conducting research activities in the area of Microbial Reference Cultures in coordination with similar organizations.
Period of engagement : The tenure of contract will be for period of one year, however the contract may be renewed further based on the performance of the applicant. In case the work and conduct of the staff is not found to be satisfactory during the contract tenure, the services may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason thereof.
General Instructions
1. The competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies and reject/select/cancellation of applications received without assigning any reason.
2. Interview will be conducted at IPC, Ghaziabad. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
3. Emolument per month may varies based on the experience & performance of the applicant at the time of interview.
4. It is not obligatory on the part of IPC or Manpower Outsourcing Service Agency to call the applicant for interview. Preference may be given to the candidates who have desirable experience.
5. Experience/Age may be relaxed at discretion of the Competent Authority.
6. The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found at a later stage that any information given in the application is incorrect/false, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
