Essential Qualification
• Candidate must have a PhD in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology and post PhD research experience.
• Candidate must have hands-on experience in mass spectrometry and HPLC, with demonstrated expertise in stable-isotope based carbon/nitrogen tracking using mass spectrometry.
• Candidate must have experience in using yeast, bacteria and other microbial model systems to study metabolism.
• Candidate must have research experience studying metabolite/secondary metabolite production and exchange
• Candidate must have strong molecular biology and microbial genetics background, including experience in strain knock- outs and use of CRISPR/CAS systems
Job Description : The candidate is required to lead a project on conserved mechanisms of amino acid exchange in microbial communities – working with bacterial (prokaryote) and yeast (eukaryote) model systems. The candidate is expected to extensively establish and build mass spectrometry based analysis of carbon metabolism, and amino acid exchange. The candidate is expected to have substantial expertise in growing microbial cells, isolating metabolites/secondary metabolites from cells.
Tenure : Contractual appointment for 11 Eleven months, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.
