CSMCRI with much scientific excitement has now achieved technological excellence with several granted patents in the core mandate of the institute and is one among the top performing national R&D laboratories in the country. At the beginning of 2011, the Institute has around 360 staff with 150 S&T staff on its roll and around 250 research fellows and project assistants pursing their doctoral programme.
Post : Project Associate – I
Applications are invited for the post of Project Associate-I from interested and talented candidates for the CSIR FIRST project titled “Utilizing chiral-induced spin selectivity effect CISS in designing hydrogen-bonded organoelectrocatalysts for water splitting including seawater” (Project Code: FIR030303) at CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.

Essential Qualification : M.Sc. in Chemistry
Desirable : Candidates having research experience in the area of catalysis / electrochemistry / in organic /organic synthesis.
Monthly Emoluments : (i) 31,000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Test – CSIR UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professor) or GATE. OR (b) A selection process through a National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions. (ii) 25,000 /- + HRA for others who don’t fall under (i) above.
Job description : Synthesis, characterization of hydrogen bonded systems and their electrocatalytic applications.
Age : As of the last date of receipt of application through email, maximum 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per the CSIR rule.
Duration : This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of project staff in different projects either in the CSIR-CSMCRI, or different Lab/Institute of CSIR taken together shall not exceed five years in any case. It would not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.

The selected candidates may pursue the Ph.D. program in AcSIR as per the guidelines.

The details of the interview will be sent to such candidates by e-mail. Ineligible candidates and students appearing in the final year of essential qualifying degrees need not apply.
