Applications are invited for Project Associate at DRILS

Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS) is a not for profit Research Institute with a mission to be the preferred research partner to the pharma and life sciences industry. DRILS focuses on original research and advancement of relevant skills, with emphasis on solution-oriented interdisciplinary research for solving unmet needs and for process innovation. The Institute has been set up on a public-private partnership model by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, the Government of Telangana, and the University of Hyderabad, and is governed by a Board of Directors comprising eminent scientists and visionaries.

Post : Project Associate

Applications are invited from the eligible applicants for Project Associate positions at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS).

Academic qualifications :
Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences or Professional Courses.
Students with fellowships are encouraged to apply.

Experience : Candidates with 1-2 years of hands-on experience in cell culture / microbiology / molecular biology / proteomics are preferred. Fresher with academic excellence may also apply

Required Personal attributes
The candidate should be motivated, committed and should be able to contribute independently and working in teams

Award of PhD :
The Project Associate position will not lead to a PhD. However, outstanding performers may be considered for PhD program under exceptional circumstances solely at the discretion of the institution.


Responsibilities
1) Literature search
2) Design, plan and execute experiments under the supervision of the scientist
3) Provide scientific support to the scientist in his/her research activities
4) Book keeping and maintenance of stocks and consumables

Area of work : Will be working in the area of metabolic inflammation and development of liver pathology such as fatty liver disease and steatosis. Experiments include handling cell culture, running western blots, RNA isolation and quantitative PCRs, ELISA, and basic imaging techniques. Isolation of primary cells from mice and work on different mice models of liver pathology will be included if the student is interested.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online through Microsoft Teams followed by a personal interview at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad Campus, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Selected candidate is expected to join within 1-2 weeks of offer.
