India's internationally renowned The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (1949) has blossomed from the Baroda College (1881) which is one of the oldest centres of learning in western India. MSU is the only state University with a residential, unitary character having English as sole medium of instruction with more than 1200 well-qualified faculty members and 1500 administrative staff to facilitate the learning of more than 35000 students having cosmopolitan life on campus.
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda invites ‘Online Applications’ for the appointment of Teaching Posts at different levels or Equivalent Posts in various departments of the Faculties/Colleges/Institutions.
PROFESSOR : 05 (ST-1, SEBC-2, UR-2)
Minimum Qualifications
a) A Bachelor (B.Pharm) and Master (M.Pharm) Degree in Pharmacy each with First Classor equivalent in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy recognized by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
b) Having Ph.D. degree in any of Pharmacy subjects (Ph.D. Qualifications must be PCI recognized).
c) Essential: 10 years’ experience in teaching in PCI approved/ recognized Pharmacy College or research experience out of which 5 years must be as Associate Professor in PCI approved/recognized Pharmacy College.
d) A Ph. D. Degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline.e) Post Ph. D. publications and guiding Ph. D. students shall be preferred.
Desirable:
• Registration as a pharmacist under the pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
• Teaching, research, industrial and /or professional experience in a reputed organization; and Papers presented at conference and /or in referred journals.
• In case of research experience, good academic record and books/ research papers publications/IPR/ Patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the selection committee.
• If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at Managerial level equivalent to Associate Professor with active participation record in devising/ designing, planning, executing, analyzing, Quality control, innovating, training, technical books/ research paper publications/ IPR/ Patents etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the selection committee.
• At least 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list of journals and at least 2 successful Ph.D. guided as Supervisor / Co-supervisor till the date of eligibility.
• A total research score of 120 as per the criteria given
OR
At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE approved list of journals till the date of eligibility.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR : 05 (ST-1, SEBC-2, UR-1)
Minimum Qualifications
a) A Bachelor (B.Pharm) and Master (M.Pharm) Degree in Pharmacy each with First Class or equivalent in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy recognized by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) .
b) A PCI recognized Pharm. D degree holder shall also be eligible for the Posts of Associate Professor in the Subjects of pathophysiology, pharmacology and pharmacy practice.
c) A Ph. D. Degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
d) Post Ph. D. publications and guiding Ph. D. students shall be preferred.
e) 3 years’ experience in teaching or research at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent in PCI approved/ recognized Pharmacy College.
Desirable:
• Registration as a pharmacist under the pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
• Teaching, research, industrial and /or professional experience in a reputed organization; and Papers presented at conference and /or in referred journals.
• In case of research experience, good academic record and books/ research papers publications/IPR/ Patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the selection committee.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

5. The Prescribed application fees is Rs. 1000/- (One thousand only) for Unreserved Category and 500/- (Five Hundred only) for Scheduled Caste(SC)/ Scheduled Tribe(ST)/ Socially and Economically Backward Class(SEBC)/ Economically Weaker Section(EWS) payable online and |Transaction ID should be attached with the hard copy of his or her application without fail.
6. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) are fully exempted from payment of theprescribed fees upon submission of relevant Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority as per the policy of Government of Gujarat.
7. A recent scanned passport sized colour photograph of candidate in JPG,JPEG & PNG format only (the digital size of the file must be up to 50 KB and resolution 200 pixels X 230 pixels is preferred ).
8. Scanned signature of Candidate using Blue/Black pen on white sheet in JPG,JPEG & PNG format only (the digital size of the file must be up to 50 KB and resolution 140 pixels X 60 pixels is preferred).
9. Bank charges towards the online payment service as applicable will be additionally payable by the candidates.
10. Candidate has to first register themselves for submitting his or her online application for the teaching post.
11. Once candidate applied and confirmed his/her application online, the candidates will not be permitted to edit anything in the application form.
12. Applicants are advised to submit the applications to the University well in advance without waiting for the last date to avoid any kind of delays due to the unforeseen events or circumstances. The University Shall not be responsible for any delay at any stage.
13. Experience and Qualifications will be reckoned as on last date for submission of online applications. No updating of qualifications and experience will be entertained after the last date of the submission of online application.
14. The applicant must ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility conditions for the Post.
15. The time taken by the candidates to acquire M.Phil and or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as Teaching/Research Experience to stake claim for appointment to the Teaching Positions. However “the period of active service spent on pursuing Research Degree i.e. for acquiring Ph.D degree simultaneously without taking any kind of leave may be counted as teaching experience for the purpose of direct recruitment/promotion to the post of Associate Professor and above.”
16. The candidates applying for the Posts of Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor or other Equivalent Teaching Posts must enter the relevant Research/Academic Score (A/R Score) in the space provided against the given categories in each of the Column and it must be supported by documentary evidence, without which no claim on account of Research/Academic Score would be entertained.
17. The candidates applying for the Posts of Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor or other Equivalent Teaching Posts shall necessarily submit Self-Attested One Copy of Top Ten Research Papers [For the Post of Professor]/ Top Seven Research Papers) [For the Post of Associate Professor] / Top Five Research Papers [For the Post of Assistant Professor]respectively, along with his or her applications.
18.The candidate shall enclose Self-Attested Copies of Certificates towards the evidence of Age, Educational Qualifications, Caste, Physical Disability, Experience, etc. with his or her applications without fail.
19.The candidate who desires to apply for more than one teaching post will be required to submit separate online applications on the prescribed format along with all the specified supporting documents and additional application processing fee along with each application.
20.The University reserves its right to relax the requirement of experience in case of SC/ST candidates as per the directives of the State Government.
21. A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as at the Master‘s level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Socially and Economically Backward class (SEBC)(Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently- abled ((a)Blindness and Low Vision; (b) Deaf and Hard of Hearing;(c) Loco motors Disability including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid-Attack Victims and Muscular Dystrophy; (d) Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability and Mental Illness; (e) Multiple Disabilities from amongst persons under (a) to (d) including Deaf-Blindness)for the purpose of Eligibility and assessing Good Academic Record for Direct Recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an Equivalent Grade in a Point Scale wherever the Grading Systems followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure.
22. Applicants awarded degrees by Foreign Universities shall be required to submit Equivalence Certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The University reservesthe right to require Equivalence Certificate for various degrees from any of the applicant.
23. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided, (from 55% to 50%ofthemarks) to the Ph.D. Degree holders who have obtained their Master‘s Degree Prior to19 September, 1991. 24.Reservation for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will be as per existing policy of Government of Gujarat and should be applicable to Gujarat domicile candidates only.
25. Candidates seeking reservation under Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) Category are required to submit Certificate on the format prescribed by the Government of Gujarat.
26. Candidates seeking reservation under Socially and Economically Backward Class Category are required to submit Certificate on the format prescribed by the Government of Gujarat.
27. Candidates applying for the Post (s) reserved for socially and Economically Backward Class (SEBC) should submit a Self-Attested Copy of Valid Caste Certificate specifically mentioning Creamy Layer-Exclusion in the format prescribed by Government of Gujarat. 28. The qualifications regulations/norms stipulated and other service conditions prescribed in the present advertisement are as per the Gazette Notification of UGC Regulations,2018(Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff inUniversity), as well as AICTE Regulations, 2019, Pharmacy Council of India, 2014, NCTE Regulations, 2014 and NCERT Regulations, 2018 etc. and various other Statutory Bodies, Councils etc., and subsequent amendments, if any shall be applicable as amended from time to time.
30.The minimum requirement of a consistently ‘Good Academic Record’ shall be 55% marks (or an Equivalent Grade in a Point Scale wherever Grading System is followed) at Master’s level, and at least 50% marks (or an Equivalent Grade in a point scale wherever Grading System is followed)at Bachelor’s Examinations or an Equivalent Degree from an Indian/Foreign University, and Qualifying in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET shall remain in force for the Direct Recruitment for the Post of Assistant Professor in the university (OR)consistently Good Academic Record shall be an average record of 3rd year (Final Year) Degree & Master Degree Level assessment which would at least be 52.5% or M.Phil or Ph.D. as applicable in case of UGC Regulations.

31. Consistently “Good Academic Record “in Engineering and Technology would mean, at least First Class (60% marks) or equivalent either in Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) or Master’s Degree (M.E.. / M.Tech) and at least 55% marks or an Equivalent Grade in a Point Scale wherever Grading System is followed at either Master’s Degree in Engineering /Technology, or at Bachelor’s level where First Class is not obtained by the candidate as applicable as per the MSU Ordinance in force and as per the AICTE Regulations.
32. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same will not entitle him/her for being called for personal interview.
33.For the post of Professor and Associate Professor or Equivalent Teaching Post, each candidate has to offer a Seminar before the personal interview in front of Selection Committee, where teaching staff of the Department concerned will be allowed to remain present. The Seminar presentation will be for a maximum of 15 minutes on the topic of candidate’s choice in the subject concerned.
34. No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending Screening Test/Personal Interview.
35. Screening of applications shall be based on the provisions stipulated under the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda Ordinances.
36. Selected candidates can be posted in any Faculty/College/ Institution of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
37. Appointed teachers may be assigned other academic or administrative responsibilities in addition to their regular teaching and research.
38. Candidate selected and appointed as Lecturer/ Assistant Professor shall have to undergo and successfully complete In-service Teachers’ Training Programme during their probationary period of two years which shall be an essential condition for the confirmation in service in the university.
39. The language of administration in the University is English. However, knowledge of Gujarati language is highly desirable. Those who do not have Gujarati language as a subject at the SSC/HSC/Degree level shall be required to pass Gujarati Proficiency Test within a period of two years from the date of his or her appointment.
40. The selected candidate including in-service candidate shall be governed by the Act/Statues/Ordinance/Regulations/Rules of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and as amended from time to time and any other Rules/Resolution as prescribed specifically for maintaining the code of conduct of the employees by the University.
41. The Pay Scales shown against each post are revised. In addition, the permanent teaching posts carry other salary benefits as per rules in force as approved by the competent authorities of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda subject to approval by the Government of Gujarat.
42. The word “Experience” may include the experience as Temporary Lecturer/Temporary Assistant Professor /Temporary Teaching Assistant.
43. Out of State service for pay fixation and other monetary shall be considered as per the rules and approval of the Government of Gujarat.
44. The appointment orders will be issued subject to the receipt of No Objection Certificate from Government of Gujarat, wherever it is required.
45. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same will not entitle him/her for being called for personal interview.
46. Call letters for attending interview will be sent only to the short-listed candidates by e-mail only.
47. No Correspondence will be entertained with applicants who are not short-listed to be called for personal interview.

49. 50. The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda reserves the right:
i. To withdraw the advertisement either partly or wholly at any time without assigning any reason to this effect.
ii. To fill or not to fill up some or all the posts advertised for any reasons whatsoever.
iii. To increase/decrease the number of Teaching or Equivalent Posts after due procedure as per directions of UGC, New Delhi from time to time.
iv. Any Edition/Deletion and changes in matter of Terms and Conditions as given in this Notification of recruitment, as directed by concerned authority such as UGC, New Delhi; MHRD, New Delhi, AICTE, New Delhi etc., and Government of Gujarat and Government of India from time to time.
v. The University will not be responsible for any loss of e-mail, loss of any communication due to wrong address as provided by the candidates.
vi. To conduct interview through SKYPE for the candidate appearing from abroad and for the candidate belong to PwBD category on their request.
51. The University may conduct Screening Test as well as may ask candidate to offer Seminar or may adopt any other suitable mode to shortlist candidate in the selection process as a method of selection.
52. Call letters and other correspondence for attending the interview, etc., will be sent to the eligible candidates by e-Mail only and necessary information shall be displayed only on the website of the University.
53. In case of any Dispute/Ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in all matter relating to Eligibility, Acceptance or Rejection of Applications, mode of selection, conduct of Screening Test, personal Interview will be final and no query or correspondence will be entertained in this connection from any individual or his/her agency.
54. Candidates, who have obtained Degrees or Diplomas or Certificates for various Courses/Academic Programs from any Institution declared Fake/Derecognized by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi shall not be eligible for being considered for recruitment to the Posts advertised.
55. The applications received shall be screened as per screening guidelines published in UGC Regulations,2018.
56. Before the candidates recruited directly are finally approved for appointment to University, he/she shall be required to produce a medical certificate of physical fitness from whom the appointing authority specifies.
