The Saurashtra University was created on a rigorous demand, for a separate university out of Gujarat University (Ahmedabad), from the eminent educationists and freedom fighters of the Saurashtra region. The demand was more prominent after the creation of Gujarat state on May 1, 1961. The Saurashtra University Act was passed by the Legislative Assembly of Gujarat in the year 1965(Gujarat Act No. 39 of 1965). Saurashtra University, established on 23rd May, 1967, having two headquarters in the initial stage i.e. Rajkot and Bhavnagar. After the incorporation of the Bhavnagar University, Rajkot became the sole headquarters of the Saurashtra University. The campus of the University is spread over 363 acres of land. The present jurisdiction of the University includes Amreli, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Surendranagar, and Morbi districts. It has 29 Post Graduate Departments on its campus and 238 affiliated colleges.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for the one post of Junior Research Fellow in a research project Pharmacokinetics of Phage therapy: a step forward in the treatment of subclinical mastitis in Gir cattle” funded by GSBTM. The position is purely temporary and will be governed by the administrative rules/ service conditions of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Saurashtra University, Rajkot.
Qualification: M. Pharm (Pharmaceutical Biotechnology), M. Sc. in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences with minimum 55% or above marks. Expertise in handling microbial cultures and molecular biology techniques is desirable.
Project duration: 2 years or until the completion of the project
Fellowship:
Candidate having qualifications as per the guidelines of Govt. Of India: Rs. 25,000/- + HRA
OR
Candidate without NET/GATE: Rs. 18,720/- (HRA will be not entitled)
Interested candidates may attend the Walk-In Interview to be held on 03rd September, 2019 at 11.00 AM in the Board Room, Extension Building, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Saurashtra University, Rajkot.
The candidates must bring original and attested copies of all documents at the time of interview. No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the interview. The selected candidate would get an opportunity to register for Ph.D, program at Saurashtra University.
