The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Post : Student Internship Fellow (One Position)
Applications in the prescribed format are invited from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Student Internship Fellow under the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) Policy of DST-SERB, on a purely temporary basis under project No. GAP-3139 entitled “A multi-OMICS Approach to Decipher the Stress Signaling Network in Rhodiola imbricate Edgew” tenable at CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu.
Essential Qualification : Candidates in the 1st or 2nd year of their Post-graduation (MSc / M.Tech Biotechnology, Plant Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Botany or related subjects. ) Or 4th year of graduation (B.Tech.) from a recognized University are encouraged to apply.
Desirable : Candidates with research experience in Plant tissue culture will be preferred
Upper Age Limit : 28 Yrs
Monthly Emoluments (Rs.) : Rs. 5000/- Per month
Note : The tenure of the aforementioned position shall be co-terminus with the sponsored projects. The number of position is tentative and may increase or decrease without any notice. The engagement of all project staff in different projects either in the same Lab/Instt. OR different Lab/Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 5 years in any case.
Online Selection Procedure
1. Application form for a particular position code can be filled online in the Google Form
2. Filled in Google Form should be submitted by or before up to 30.04.2024 by 5:00 pm.
3. Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained.
4. List of eligible candidates will displayed on the Institutional WEBSITE on 04.05.2024. The last date of submission of the scanned required document will be 07.05.2024 before 5:00 pm. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the interview on the assigned date. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the Interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website www.iiim.res.in by evening on 10.05.2024
5. All applicants/candidates will be required to send a recommendation letter forwarded/endorsed by the head of the institute/department where they are currently studying through email to gaprecruitment3139@gmail.com, by or before 07.05.2024 before 5:00 pm. After verification of the documents, final list of eligible candidates will be displayed on CSIR-IIIM website on 10.05.2024 on the Institutional website.
6. The shortlisted candidates have to be available on the date of the Interview from 10.00 A.M. onwards and will be called anytime during the allotted time period (if any change is there, they will be accordingly intimated).
7. The Interview in respect of eligible/shortlisted candidates shall be conducted offline. However, if a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the criteria and shortlist the candidates for Interview in proportionate to the available vacancies. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
8. The positions are purely temporary on contract basis and co-terminus with sponsored Project.
9. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the aforesaid subjects should apply for the Interview.
10. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents including eligibility qualification will be verified, if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment stands cancelled.
11. Institute is not liable to provide accommodation to the selected candidate on the date of the interview.
