Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India in November, 2001. Its inauguration was done by the then Honourable Prime Minister Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 17th December, 2001 in presence of Sh.L.K.Advani, Sh. C. P. Thakur and Founder Principal Dr. Jagdish Prasad. The College building was dedicated to the Nation by the Vice President Sh. M. Hamid Ansari on 20th Nov. 2007 in the presence of Honourable Health Minister Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss. The first batch of MBBS students was admitted in February, 2002. Post-graduate courses (MD/MS) in clinical subjects were running at Safdarjung Hospital even before the establishment of VMMC.

Post : Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

A written test followed by interview has been conducted for recruitment of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on contractual basis for Project entitled “Functionality of B cells in Dengue and Chikungunya co-infections” sponsored by International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, ICGEB, Science & Engineering Research Board, SERB, Department of Science and Technology. Details of posts including number of vacancies, remuneration, age, requisite qualification, and experience in respect of these posts is as under.

Monthly Remuneration : Rs. 36,400/- consolidated (No other allowances are permissible)

Age limits : Upto 45 years

Educational Qualification : 1st class Master’s degree in related discipline (Life Sciences) with minimum 2 year research experience after completing internship

Eligible and interested candidates fulfilling the educational qualification, experience etc. as mentioned above should appear for skill test. The candidates should report in Room No. 503, 5th floor, Department of Microbiology, VMMC Building, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi – 110029 along with original, self attested copies, two passport size photographs (one should be pasted on the application form) and complete application form duly filled in Annexure-II.

(Note: The eligible candidates may register their names for written test between 9.30 AM to 10.30 AM. Registration will be closed at 10.30 AM sharp. Candidate reporting after 10.30 AM will not be entertained)
