The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named “Nehru Hospital” on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab. After the reorganization of the state, the administrative control of the institute passed on to the Union Territory of Chandigarh in November 1966.  The Institute became an autonomous body under the Act of Parliament in 1967 functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Applications are invited for One post of Junior Research Fellow in the DST-SERB project entitled “Treatment response evaluation in Locally Advanced Breast Cancer patients by FLTPET- CT after Neoadjuvant chemotherapy and correlation with tumour proliferation and apoptosis marker expression” under Dr. B.R. Mittal, in the department of Nuclear Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Essential Qualifications: MSc in Nuclear Medicine

Age: Up to 30 Years

Emoluments: Rs. 18000/- p.m. + 20% HRA

Desirable:
• Should know the cyclotron-chemistry module / PET-CT operation for synthesis of PET radiopharmaceuticals / patient data acquisition.
• Should be proficient in use of MS-Excel/Power point /SPSS for data /STATA Analysis
• NET/GATE Qualified

The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Interested candidates may submit their applications on plain paper along with Curriculum Vitae and latest passport sized colored photograph. Attested copies of degree/marks sheet and other relevant documents should also be submitted. Those who are already working under various research schemes and desire to be considered for the post should send their application through proper channel to the undersigned with a certificate from the employer that he/she will be relieved immediately, if selected.

Application should reach the office of undersigned latest by 25.10.2013. Applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

Applicants should appear for interview (with original certificates) in the office of undersigned on 26.10.2013 at 11.00 a.m. No separate interview letters will be sent and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
