Walk-in: Job as a Research Assistant @ National Institute of Nutrition

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.

Eligible candidates are invited to attend a WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on the following dates at 9.30 A.M. sharp for the following post on the ad hoc research project entitled “Role of dietary fatty acids in inducing endoplasmic reticulum stress in stromal vascular cells: Implications in the development of obesity associated insulin resistance” funded by DST at this Institute. The essential qualification, experience, consolidated Fellowship and service tenure are as under:

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc. 1st Class in biotechnology / Biochemistry / Molecular Biology / Life Sciences / Nutrition with 2 years of Research experience.

Desirable: Ph.D. or submitted Ph.D. thesis along with experiences in routine molecular biology techniques like real time PCR

Age: Below 35 years. Relaxation in case of SC/ ST/ OBC/PH candidates as per G.O.I. Rules

Consolidated Salary:Rs.18,000/- + 30% HRA p.m.(Fixed) without any other allowances

Tenure: Initially for 1 year and it will be renewable based on the performance. The Maximum period is three years as per the DST norms (funding agency).

The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualification (from SSC onwards), experience and caste along with a photo and set of Photo copies duly attested while attending the Walk-in-Interview.

GENERAL CONDITIONS : 1) A Person who has availed total 5 years of tenure/service as JRF and SRF ( i.e., 2 years as JRF + 3 years SRF) under ICMR/UGC.CSIR/DST/DBT/ICAR etc.. on various projects will not be consider their applications for the above SRF under any circumstances. The conditions of employment will be the same as are for the project staff on contract basis. The candidates have no right to claim for any regular employment at this Institute. The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept / reject any application without assigning any reason and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained. The Candidate those who are belongs to OBC category should submit the certificate of OBC issued by the respective Mandal Revenue Officer/ Tahsildar of the respective State for the purpose of applying to the Central Government Employment.
