USP also sets widely recognized standards for food ingredients and dietary supplements. USP's standards are recognized and used in more than 130 countries around the globe. These standards have helped to ensure public health throughout the world for close to 200 years.

The institute was established in the year of 2002 under Raghavendra Educational and Rural Development Society (RERDS) with Reg. No.198 /2001. The RIPER institute offered courses are D. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy, Pharm. D, Pharm. D (P.B), Ph. D (full time) programmes.
