National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hajipur is an Institute of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament 2007 under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India.

The history of Constitution of India reveals that the concept of conducting competitive examination for appointment to certain posts came into consideration way back in the year 1853 and a committee for giving shape to that was constituted under the chairmanship of Lord Macaulay in the year 1854. Tata Memorial Centre is an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy. TMC is comprised of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) and the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH). ACTREC conducts a Ph.D. program in Life Sciences, affiliated to the Homi Bhabha National Institute (a deemed university under category A by MHRD, Govt of India). On-going research at ACTREC includes basic and translational research in Cancer Biology.

Bihar Technical Service Commission has been constituted by the Bihar Technical Service Commission Act, 2014 for selection of candidates for the technical posts of Group 'B` and `C` under the State Government, Bihar.
