The Andaman & Nicobar Islands is a union territory of India. This territory is known as A & N Islands, or ANI. It is located in the Indian Ocean, in the southern reaches of the Bay of Bengal, nearer to Indonesia and Thailand. This comprises of two island groups - the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands - which separate the Andaman Sea to the east from the Indian Ocean. These two groups are separated by the 10° N parallel, the Andamans lying to the north of this latitude, and the Nicobars to the south. The capital of this territory is the Andamanese town of Port Blair.There are 572 islands in the territory, of which only some 38 are permanently inhabited. Most of the islands (about 550) are in the Andamans group, 26 of which are inhabited.

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established under an Act passed by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in July, 1998. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has been established under THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI UNIVERSITY ACT, 1999.an Act of the J&K State Legislature (ACT No. XII of 1999 dated 12th May 1999) as an autonomous, highly Technical & fully Residential University.  The University started functioning as an academic unit in Aug 2004 when it was inaugurated on 19th August 2004 at the hands of the then Hon'ble President of India Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL), New Delhi is an ISO 17025:2005 & World Anti Doping Agency accredited laboratory. It caters to the field of drug testing and analysis for both human and horse samples with its state of art facility including GC/MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, HPLC, GC/C/IRMS, ELISA, protein separation and identification tools towards the goal of making sports free from doping.

This centre which was started by ICMR basically to solve problems in blood banking, slowly branched out successfully to initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz. biochemical genetics , red cell enzymopathies and hemoglobinopathies , population genetics, antenatal serology, Immunology, HLA etc. In the first twenty five years, using limited space, limited resources and budget, talented and highly enthusiastic young scientists from the center under the guidance of dynamic stalwarts Dr. H M Bhatia and Dr. A J Baxi could produce as many as 271 publications of which 71 were published in prestigious international journals.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER, Kolkata) has been created as a centre of excellence for higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences. The Institute offers in M.S.(Pharm.) in Medicinal Chemistry, Natural Products and Pharmacoinformatics. The Institute admits students for the M.S(Pharm.) through a common entrance test conducted by NIPER, Mohali. In future the number of M.S. programs would be increased and Ph.D programs would also be started in various disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences every year.

The appointment of the posts is for a specific period of the project and the service will automatically stand terminated at the end of the contractual period.
