A number of meritorious students in West Bengal cannot pursue higher education to college level for want of funds. CESC proposes to introduce a scholarship programme to lend support to such students in the state, in line with the dream of Dr. R. P.Goenka, former Chairman of CESC.
SCHOLARSHIP
• Thirty (30) scholarships for undergraduate studies covering Engineering, Medical & Other streams for deserving meritorious applicants
• Selected applicants will be entitled to a scholarship of Rs.5,000/- per month initially 6 months and then for renewal every six months covering the duration of their undergraduate course, subject to satisfactory academic progress and good conduct
• Disbursement of scholarship will be made for next 6 months at a time subject to production of certificates from the Head of the Institution on satisfactory academic progress & good conduct
APPLICATIONS INVITED FROM
• Indian nationals residing in West Bengal
• Students who secure a minimum of 85% marks in aggregate in their class XII examination in 2014 from a school in West Bengal
• Students whose annual family income does not exceed Rs. Two lakh Fifty thousand per financial year
SELECTION
• Based on merit criteria
• Only short-listed applicants may be called for personal interviews in Kolkata
• All documents in original must be produced as and when called for
• Failure to produce original documents or any inconsistency / misdedaration in the application form will result in rejection thereof
• Misrepresentation of facts / misdedaration may lead to termination of scholarship and the entire amount disbursed are liable to be refunded by the applicant
• Selection for scholarship is at the sole discretion of CESC Limited
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION (SCANNED COPIES)
• Copies of Class XII certificate and mark sheet.
• Proof of rank/score obtained in entrance examination for currently-pursued studies (where applicable)
• Fee booklet of institution currently studying at or any other document on bonafide studentship
• Income certificate issued by local BDO, where applicable, or Gazetted Officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary including OSD & Ex-Officio Deputy Secretary
• Proof of residence
• Certification from college authority
• Declaration attested by Guardian/ Parent on any other scholarship being enjoyed
TERMS & CONDITIONS
• Wards of CESC Limited employees are not eligible to apply
• Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification
• There will be no obligation on part of CESC Limited to provide employment to any scholarship awardees at any point of time
• CESC Limited reserves the right to reject any application as well as to discontinue/suspend the scholarship in future without giving any notice / assigning any reason
• Applicants will have to provide valid & active e-mail address, mobile number & bank account details in their online application form & keep checking their personal email / mobile SMS, and website of the Scheme cesc.co.in/rpgscholarship regularly for instructions specific for them from administrator of the scheme /CESC Limited
• Any incorrect information furnished in the application will make the applicant ineligible for the scholarship
• CESC Limited will not be responsible for any delay or loss/damage of documents in transit or any other reason
• The process followed / decision taken by CESC Limited in granting the Scholarship will be final
• Award of scholarship cannot be used as either proof of residency or certificate of income for any other purpose
• Students may be required to take part in publicity campaigns that the Company might undertake
