Inviting application from Colleges/Universities willing to admit students under the Special Scholarship Scheme from AICTE

Government of India under the Special Scholarship Scheme envisaged providing 5000 fresh scholarships every year to the students who are domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir and have passed class XII from schools located in the state and fulfilling all other eligibility criteria, for studying in duly approved Institutions located outside Jammu and Kashmir.

Out of these, 4500 scholarships are for General degree courses (including Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Veterinary Science, Pharmacy, Hotel Management etc.), 250 for Engineering/B.Arch and 250 for Medical studies (including Medicine, Dental etc.).

On the recommendation of Inter Ministerial Committee (IMC), AICTE has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of the scheme and release of scholarship to all such eligible candidates. A web portal has been developed for the purpose by AICTE aicte-jk-schoiarship.in.

The Council invites applications for willingness from Colleges/ Universities located outside the State of Jammu & Kashmir and recognized by UGC, or Colleges/ Universities created through an Act of the State Govt, offering Under-Graduate programmes in General Degree programme like - BA, BSc, BCom, BBA,BCA, BBM, B.Ed, BHMCT etc.; Medical programme - like MBBS, BDS, BHMS etc.; programmes in Architecture, Pharmacy, Law, Nursing, Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Veterinary Science, etc. in prescribed Performa available at aicte-jk-scholarship.in/Coilege/ExistingUserCoilegeForm.aspx, to give their willingness to offer seats from within the sanctioned intake for admissions to students under the above Scheme latest by 30^th May, 2014.

Students fulfilling all the eligibility criteria of J&K Special Scholarship Scheme shall be allotted to the respective colleges on the basis of their choice and merit obtained at class XII level.
