Eligibility:
(i) Faculty Research, (ii) Faculty Enrichment The applicants should be full-time members of the academic staff of a recognized institution of higher education or an equivalent degree-granting organization in India. Faculty Research applicants may also be scholars at research and policy institutes in India or professors emeritus. Applicants should hold a degree equivalent to postgraduate qualification.

Applications from others without these formal qualifications shall be considered only if successful research and teaching experience can be demonstrated. The applicants who are able to provide evidence of their interest in or involvement with Canada prior to the application will be preferred. This may be demonstrated by courses already given, research undertaken, extra-mural activities, active membership in relevant organizations, etc.

Eligibility: (iii) Doctoral Research Fellowship Applicants must be enrolled as doctoral candidates in a recognized institution of high education or equivalent degree-granting organization and must expect to have completed non-thesis requirements of the Ph.D. by the time the tenure of the award commences.

Scholarship Description: A. Understanding Canada – Faculty Research, and B. Understanding Canada – Faculty Enrichment Fellowship

These awards are intended for scholars who wish to work up to five weeks projects identified by them in Canada. The projects should lead to the publication of scholarly articles in India in the case of research awards, and the development of courses on Canada in Indian Universities in the case of enrichment awards Understanding Canada – Doctoral Research Fellowships These awards are intended for scholars who wish to work up to six months on the applicants’ doctoral dissertation in Canada. Preference will be given to applicants whose dissertations focus on topics that have policy relevance for Canada and Canada’s foreign policy
