Top brands of paracetamol, pantoprazole, amoxycilin amongst failed sample, says CDSCO

CDSCO reported top brands of paracetamol, pantoprazole, amoxicillin and other amongst failed samples reported by CDSCO. These samples are reported to be not of standard quality. Total 59 different brands from well known pharmaceutical industries failed to compile with standard quality.

Top brands like Clavam 625, Mexclav 625, Shelcal, Pan D failed various assays and quality tests, which were collected and tested by different Drugs Testing Laboratories.

Medicines like Amoxicillin And Potassium Clavulanate Tablets, Calcium And
Vitamin D3 Tablets, Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets, Vitamin B Complex with Vitamin C Softgels, Pantoprazole and Domperidone, Paracetamol, Montelukast Sodium & Levocetirizne, Fexofenadine, Heparin Sodium Injection, Ibuprofen & Paracetamol, Nimesulide, Ciprofloxacin, Adrenaline Injection etc are failed for quality tests.

CDSCO also notified that State Drugs Licensing Authorities of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh,Goa,Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry,Telangana,Delhi,Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar, Dadar and Nagar Haveli; Daman and Diu, Lakshadweep have not submitted any data in respect of the Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) Alert for the Month of August, 2024.


These drugs, manufactured by various companies including Unicure India Ltd, Hetero Drugs, Health Biotech Ltd, Alkem Laboratories, Life Max Cancer Laboratories, Pure & Cure Healthcare, and Meg Lifesciences, were identified through random sampling. Paracetamol of Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Metronidazole of Hindustan Antibiotics have also shown quality concern.
