In association with IIHMR University, Jaipur, Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board organized a Workshop on Biomedical Waste Management Rules, 2016 for doctors and staff of SMS Medical College – Attached Hospitals" on Thursday, February 16, 2023. The workshop was held at the SMS Auditorium in Jaipur and was attended by more than 100 participants.
Dr. P.R. Sodani, President of IIHMR University, Jaipur, welcomed all the participants of the workshop. He especially thanked Rajasthan Pollution Control Board for this initiative and SMS Medical College Hospital for providing necessary support in organizing the workshop. Dr. Sodani highlighted the importance of Bio-Medical Waste Management practices in improving the quality of healthcare services. Dr. Rajeev Bagarhatta, Principal, SMS Medical College, Jaipur emphasized that this workshop will provide a good platform to learn the best practices for Bio-Medical Waste Management. Dr. Achal Sharma, Medical Superintendent, SMS Hospital , Jaipur addressed the participants. Dr. Mahender Kumar, Dean, Institute of Health Management Research, IIHMR University, Jaipur, coordinated the workshop.
The workshop was aimed at educating and creating awareness on the proper management and disposal of biomedical waste. As part of the workshop, the participants also visited various hospitals, including Rukmani Birla Hospital CK Birla, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, and EHCC Hospital for an exposure visit.
