The Ayush ministry has cancelled the bidding process for establishment of All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy in Goa.

Earlier in 2009, the 9,19,789 square metre plot, in Dhargal in Pernem taluka, was acquired by the Goa government to build infrastructure for the upcoming National Games as well as for sports like cricket.

The decision to transfer about 2,00,000 square metres land from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and Directorate of Health Services to the Union AYUSH ministry, free of cost, was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.  The government invited bids on June 12 last year from Central and state PSUs.

This program  also encouraging the private sector to invest in the field of Ayurveda. All practitioners, students and followers of Ayurveda can take benefit of programs. The facility also boost Goa’s health tourism.
