Zydus Pharmaceuticals (USA) Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cadila Healthcare Limited, has received the final approval from the USFDA to market Valacyclovir Tablets USP in strengths of 500 mg and 1 gm.
The drug is indicated for the treatment of cold sores (herpes labialis), genital herpes, chickenpox and herpes zoster (shingles). It will be manufactured at the group’s formulations manufacturing facility at Moraiya, Ahmedabad.
The group now has more than 180 approvals and has so far filed over 310 ANDAs since the commencement of the filing process in FY 2003-04.
