The national drug price regulator National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) unearthed a total of 613 cases of non-compliance of its notified price ceilings of various drugs by companies.
The National Essential Drug List (NLEM) has been incorporated into Drug Schedule I (price control), 2013. The NPPA is the nodal authority to notify the ceiling prices of these scheduled formulations. NPPA has notified the ceiling prices of 680 drugs listed in Revised List I of DPCO, 2013 (NLEM-15).
The pharmaceutical market data for January 2017 were analyzed by NPPA. Since the number of cases per month is high. The NPPA has issued "preliminary noitce" to companies for overloading patients.

Companies that find that Pharmatrac's data are not correct may submit the necessary compliance documentation to file their names on the list. The NPPA will upload a separate monthly list of all cases where names have been deleted after verification and delete their names from the main list.
