Cow & Gate, a baby food company is recalling a batch of its 'Sunny Start My First Banana Muesli' packs after receiving complaints of insects found in it.
Parents have been warned not to use its 330g packs with the best before date of September 27 2016. Several complaints like presence of spider web and maggot were reported to the company in the muesli packs meant for babies from 10 months onwards. The Food Standards Agency has also reported that the company has recalled its products due to the presence of insects and stated that it is not suitable for consumption.
"We are very sorry that this has happened and would like to reassure parents that we maintain strict standards at our factory and we are committed to providing the highest quality products. "We have launched an immediate investigation and we will be taking all necessary steps to prevent this happening again," said Cow & Gate.
