Assam University came into existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989. It was established in 1994,since then the University is steadily becoming an excellent centre of learning.
The campus, situated in Dargakona, about 20 kms from Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical landscape in the North East. The campus in an area of 600 acres surrounded by lakes and mountains provides an ideal environment for academic pursuit.
Drawing its 230 plus faculty from many disciplines, from all over the country, the university sustains a multidisciplinary approach to higher education.

A. 1. Laboratory Technician-cum-Store in-charge ( Deptt. of Pharmaceutical Science) – 01 No.
Eligibility: Minimum qualification: B.Pharm. Preference will be given to experienced candidate working in laboratory/ chemicals or drug store.
Age : Maximum 35 years.
Remuneration: 12,000/-pm (Fixed)
2. Laboratory Assistant ( Deptt. of PharmaceuticalScience) – 01 No.
Eligibility: Minimum qualification: D.Pharm/ B.Sc. Preference will be given to experienced candidate working in laboratory.
Age: Maximum 35 years
Remuneration: 10,000/-pm(Fixed)
3. Laboratory Attendant ( Deptt. of PharmaceuticalScience) – 02 Nos.
Eligibility: Minimum qualification: H.S. having working experience in laboratory and handling machinery.
Age: Maximum 28 years
Remuneration: 8,000/-pm(Fixed)
B. Radiographer ( A.U. Health Centre) – 01 No.
Eligibility: Diploma in Radiographer or its equivalent degree from recognized institute. Minimum 1 year working experience in a hospital or in a reputed diagnostic centre.
Age: Maximum 30 years
Remuneration: 12,000/-pm(Fixed)

A walk-in-interview will be conducted on 18/09/2013 at 11.00 a.m. in Kamini Kumar Chanda Guest House for the following purely temporary posts on contractual terms and consolidated remuneration at Assam University, Silchar.
