Shivaji University, established in 1962, is named after the Great Maratha Warrior and founder of the Maratha empire Chhatrapati Shivaji. It was inaugurated on 18th November, 1962 by Dr. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India. One of the major objectives behind foundation of this University was to cater to the regional needs of South Maharashtra. The jurisdiction of the University is spread over three districts viz. Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara with strength of about 2,00,000 students studying in 225 affiliated colleges and recognised institutes.

Conditions:
1. Educational Qualifications, Pay Scales and Service Conditions will be as per the existing rules of apex body and Government of Maharashtra.
2. Roman figures in the brackets show the number of times the post is being advertised.
3. Relaxation of 5% will be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master's degree level for SC/ST category.
4. Reserved category candidates outside the State of Maharashtra will be treated as Open Category candidates.

6. Reservation for female / disabled persons will be decided by appointing authorities.
7. Reserved category post advertised for six times or more will be filled in by transferring categories internally as per provisions in G.R.No.BCC/1054/96- 16 B of 5th December 1994 ST to SC and Vice Versa
8. Reserved category candidates shall produce the Caste Validity Certificate as per the directives issued by the state Government vide Circular No. BCC-2011/Pra.Kra 1064/2011/16-B dated 12-12-2011.
9. Reserved category candidates from the category (except SC/ST) shall produce Non-creamy layer certificate at the time of Interview.
10. Those who are already in service should apply through proper channel.
