Mazagon Dock Limited is the India’s premier shipyard constructing warships as well as offshore platforms.
Main activities are ship building, ship repairs and fabrication of offshore structures with facilities situated at Mumbai and Nhava. We have the capability to build warships, submarines, merchant ships upto 30,000 DWT and fabrication of well head platforms, process and production platforms and jack up rigs. For outfitting work, the company has a large number of workshops with sophisticated equipment and machines specific to hull fabrication and ship construction work.

Essential Qualifications:
Must have passed B.Pharm / D.Pharrm from any Govt. recognised University with minimum 2 years’ working experience in Dispensary as pharmacist.

Experience Criteria:
Candidates should have minimum 2 years experience in a shipbuilding industry in the respective trades as mentioned at para 2 above. However, where the candidates have worked in two or more of the above-mentioned trades in the shipbuilding industry, total work experience of minimum 2 years in these trades will be reckoned for considering their eligibility. The experience certificate should be issued by the Personnel / HR department.

Age Limit :
Maximum age limit is 33 years and minimum age limit not less than 18 years as on 1st August, 2012.
i) Relaxation in upper age limit is 3 years for OBC(NCL) and 5 years for SC/ST candidates as per rules.
ii) Relaxation in upper age limit for persons with disability (40% and above) 10 years for General candidates, 13 years for OBC candidates and 15 years for SC/ST candidates as per Govt. Rules.
iii) Ex. Trade apprentices of MDL will get age relaxation to the extent of their period of apprenticeship training in MDL over and above the other relaxation at 4(i) to 4(ii) above as per Govt. directives.
iv) Ex. Employees who have worked in MDL on contract basis shall get age relaxation of 5 years over and above the other relaxations at 4(i) to 4(iii).
v) Ex-servicemen who have put in not less than 6 months continuous service in the Armed forces of the Union will be given relaxation in age to the extent of period of service plus 3 years.

Probation Period:
Selected candidates will be on probation for six months.

Description of Duties:
Selected technical staff and operatives are required to work on production related work/outfitting work as per production norms and multi trade policies in force in the Company including job specifications of the technical staff and operatives incorporated in the policies and amended from time to time.

Pay & Allowances:
Selected candidates appointed in the skilled Gr.I category will get basic pay of Rs.7500/- per month in the ID-5 pay scale of 7500-22430. Besides the basic pay, they will be entitled to industrial DA, HRA, CPF & allowances etc. as per rules of the Company. Grant of annual increment will be as per Company rules. The selected candidates will be governed by the ESIC Act for the purpose of medical benefits. However, in case the operatives are exempted from the ESIS coverage due to enhancement of wages, they will be covered under the Company’s medical benefit scheme upto Rs.1.5 lakhs per annum for the employees and their eligible family members.

Leave: The appointees shall be entitled for leave as per leave rules of the Company

How to Apply:
a) Application format given at the end of this advertisement may be downloaded from our website mazagondock.gov.in under the head “career”. The application should be filled legibly in Hindi, Marathi or English in block letters on A4 size paper strictly in the prescribed format.

b) A self attested recent passport size colour photograph should be pasted in the space provided in the application form.

c) Candidates should attach attested copies of all certificates in support of their age, qualification, experience and caste along with the application.

d) SC, ST & OBC(NCL) candidates are required to produce a caste certificate only in the prescribed form and issued by the following authorities.
i) District Magistrate/Additional Dist. Magistrate/Collector/Deputy Commissioner/Additional Deputy Commissioner/Deputy Collector/1st Class Stipendary Magistrate/Sub Divisional Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Extra Assistant Commissioner (not below the rank of 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate.
ii) Chief Presidency Magistrate/Addl. Chief Presidency Magistrate/Presidency Magistrate.
iii) Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar and
iv) Sub Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.
The OBC candidates seeking reservation are required to attach certificate regarding OBC (Non-Creamy Layer status) not older than 6 months as on 01/08/2012 issued by the Competent Authority in prescribed format only.

e) Candidates claiming reservation under persons with disability (40% or more) in the category HH / OH as the case may be are required to produce medical certificate in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority as stipulated in Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.

f) Candidate serving in Government / Quasi Government offices, Public Sector Undertakings have to submit their application through proper channel. In case, he sends an advance copy of the application, he will have to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from his employer at the time of the interview failing which his candidature will not be considered.

g) Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories should submit Demand Draft of Rs. 100/- (non-refundable) drawn in favour of Mazagon Dock Ltd., payable at Mumbai towards processing fee. Application not in the prescribed format or without DD/ enclosures are liable to be rejected. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD & Ex-servicemen are exempted from paying the processing fee.

h) Duly filled application in the prescribed format alongwith all enclosures should reach DGM (Rec-W&S), Recruitment Cell, Service Block- 3rd Floor, Mazagon Dock Limited, Dockyard Road, Mumbai-400010 on or before 28th September, 2012. Eligible Candidates registered with State Employment Exchange may also apply directly to the undersigned through post & courier -5-

i) Envelope containing the application form must be superscribed with “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SKILLED GRADE-I IN THE TRADE___________ against Permanent Vacancies”.

j) Incomplete / applications received after the last date will be rejected.

General Information:
a) Applications giving reference of the advertisement should be sent to DGM (Rec-W&S) through post or courier only. However, candidates presently working in MDL should forward their application to DGM (Rec-W&S) through proper channel.

b) While applying for the post, the applicants must ensure that the particulars furnished by him/her are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment or even after appointment against permanent vacancies that he/she has furnished incorrect/false information, or has suppressed any material fact, his/her candidature will stand canceled/ services may be terminated without compensation.

c) The candidates selected for appointment are required to serve in different shifts and places as identified by the Company.

d) The appointments of candidates are subject to being declared medically fit by the Chief Medical Officer of the Company as per rules.

e) Short listed candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria will be called for interview. List of eligible candidates will also be hosted on our website on 30th November 2012 onwards. Those candidates who qualify in the interview will be eligible to appear for the trade test.

f) SC/ST candidates will be reimbursed to & fro bus / 2nd class train fare to the declared railway/bus station in the application, by shortest route on production of tickets as per Government Rules.

g) Decision of the Management in all matters regarding eligibility criteria, trade test, interview, selection would be final and binding on all candidates. No representation or correspondence will be entertained by the Company in this regard.

h) The Company takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in postal transit of any application or communication. Candidates are advised not to send original certificates, mark sheets along with the applications.

i) Cameras/Mobile with cameras is not permitted inside the company’s premises.
