National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) was established in 1977 as 'Malaria Research Centre', which was renamed as 'National Institute of Malaria Research' in November 2005. NIMR is one of the institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research (an autonomous body under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India). The primary task of the Institute is to find short term as well as long term solutions to the problems of malaria through basic, applied and operational field research. The Institute also plays a key role in man power resource development through trainings/workshops and transfer of technology.

Two positions of the Senior Project Fellows on a consolidated salary of Rs. 18,000/-p.m. plus HRA are to be filled up on purely temporary, ad hoc and contractual basis under the project titled “Plasmodium research and training in India”. The present tenure of the project is March 2012. The fellow will be stationed at Delhi but he/she may be required to carry out field tour in remote areas for the collection of biological samples. The period of contract may be curtailed/extended at the discretion of the competent authority. Interested and eligible candidates may attend walk-in-interview at NIMR on 15th September 2011 at 11.00 AM along with the Bio-Data with the photocopies of the testimonials and also Originals for verification. NOC is necessary in the case of persons serving in Central/State Govt./Autonomous Bodies No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Essential Qualification: First class M.Sc. in Life Sciences with two years of research experience in the field of molecular biology on the date of interview, preferably in the field of malariology

Desirable: some working experience in the field of molecular biology

Age: Up to 35 years (Relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Govt. rules and also for having deserving candidates).

Note: The project work involves field work in rural areas and the selected candidate may be asked to undertake visit to field areas. The Director NIMR is authorized to terminate the fellowship prior to tenure without assigning any reason. Registration of candidates will be done during 10.00 AM-1045 AM
