Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.
"Walk-in-Interview" is to be held on Wednesday the 7th September, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. at this Institute for engagement of Project Assistant Level-I & Project Assistants Level-II under the different In-House and Sponsored Projects on purely temporary basis (co-terminus with the projects).

Educational Qualifications: Class M.Sc. in Agriculture/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Life Sciences/Botany/Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry/B.Tech. (Chemical Engg./Production Engg.) or M.Sc.(lndustrial Chemistry) or equivalent.
Age: 28 Years as on 07.09.2011.
Post: Project Assistant Level-I

Educational Qualifications: 1st Class B.Sc./B.Sc.(Agri.)/Forestry/Horticulture/Medical/ Non-Medical.
Age: 28 Years as on 07.09.2011.
Date & Time of Walk-in-Interview: Wednesday the 7th September, 2011 at 9:00 A.M., Place: IHBT, Palampur (H.P.).
Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST,3 years for OBC and widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from their husbands and who are not remarried are allowed age concession up to the age of 35 years. (Up to 40 years for members of SC/STs)-no other women entitled for such relaxation.
Eligible candidates may appear for "Walk-in-Interview" on the date, time and place mentioned above. Candidates appearing for "Walk-in-Interview" have to submit an application on the prescribed proforma available at the IHBT, website alongwith attested photocopies of testimonials at the time of interview. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the projects. Candidates must also bring with them original certificates at the time of the appearing for interview failing which he/she will not be allowed to appear for interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
Note:- Result awaited candidates are not eligible for interview.
