Nirma University, Ahmedabad has been established in the year 2003 as a statutory university under the Gujarat State Act by the initiative of the Nirma Education & Research Foundation (NERF). Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an Autonomous Institution of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. IPC is created to set standards of drugs in the country. Its basic function is to update regularly the standards of drugs commonly required for treatment of diseases prevailing in this region. It publishes official documents for improving Quality of Medicines by way of adding new and updating existing monographs in the form of Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP).

The mandate of the Institute is to address the reproductive health issues of national and global relevance. The institute was established with an objective to develop novel and efficacious modalities for fertility regulation through research and thereby assist the government in its mission to stem the population boom. In the past four decades, however, the institute has grown beyond the mandate with which it was entrusted at the time of its genesis.

College of Pharmacy is a part of Jijamata Education Society, which is sprawled in 05 acres amidst the picturesque satpuda hills, Nandurbar – Taloda road, embellished with modern architecture and vast open areas. Jijamata Education Society has been credited to be a pioneer in pharmacy education by starting Diploma Course in Pharmacy (D. Pharmacy) in 1991, whereas Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharmacy) course started in 2012 at Nandurbar.
