With a coastline of about 3,500 miles, inland sources in Rajasthan and Little Rann of Kutch, and the rock salt mines in Mandi, India have possibilities of attaining a high position in salt production among the salt producing countries of the world. As is known, apart from being an indispensable item of food, salt is an important raw material for the manufacture of several heavy chemicals e.g. soda ash, caustic soda and chlorine. Besides, salt is used in food processing industries, such as fish curing, meat packing, dairy products and fruit and vegetable canning.

Qualification: M.Sc in Chemistry (Organic/ applied/ material/physical/analytical) with minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) from a recognized university. Candidates with NET/GATE qualifications will be preferred. Please note that, candidates from any other branch of chemistry will also be considered based on their performance in the written test and Interview.
General Conditions:-
Emoluments: 12000/- p.m. + HRA (HRA for NET-JRF qualified candidates only) for JRF/PA-II
Age: Should not be more than 28 years for JRF/PA-II (Relaxation as per CSIR rules).
CSMCRI is a national research laboratory under CSIR, which is well equipped with research facilities of international standards (website: www.csmcri.org). Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals for the positions of Junior Research Fellow/Project Assistant Level-II, to work in the area of polysaccharides, ionic liquids and natural product chemistry under projects funded by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi.
