Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB), one of the premier constituent establishments of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is carrying out research and development in the areas of genomics, molecular medicines, bioinformatics and environmental biotechnology. The Institute has played pivotal role in genomics and integrative biology through R & D partnerships and in collaboration with medical institutes, universities and the industry. It envisages building and sustaining available resources in its areas of research leading to technological advancement of high scientific impact.

Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB), desires to engage qualified incumbents on purely temporary basis as detailed below:

Project Title/ Code: "Cellular Hypoxia, Mitochondrial Dysfunction, and Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress In Asthma: -Potential New Therapeutic Targets" (Project Code: GAP0069)
No. of Post (s): one
Designation: Research Associate
Essential Qualification:
PhD Life Sciences with exposure to biophysical methods and techniques.
Desirable:
Experience in ion channel experiments, mathematical modeling, mitochondrial biology

Age Limit: 35 years
Stipend:
Rs. 23,000/- + 30% HRA per month
Tenure: One Year

Project Title/ Code: "Telomeres in adaptation and maladaptation under hypobaric hypoxia" (Project Code: (CLP0017)
No. of Post (s): One
Designation: Post Doctoral Fellow
Essential Qualification:
PhD thesis submitted/Fresh PhD in Biochemistry/Biotechnolgy.
Desirable:
Experience in genetics/genomics of human diseases

Age Limit: 35 years
Stipend:
Rs. 30,000 per month consolidated
Tenure: One Year

Project Title/ Code: "Genome wide association study of chronic pancreatitis" (Project Code: GAP0083)

Designation: Research Associate
Essential Qualification:
Fresh Ph.D. In Genetics, Chemistry, Zoology, Biotechnology or any other experimental branches of Life Sciences. Candidates who already submitted their thesis and expecting to get provisional certificate within 3-4 months may also apply. Candidates with publication/s will be preferred.
Desirable:
Knowledge in biostatistics

Age Limit: 40 years { as per DBT guidelines}
Stipend:
Rs. 22,000/- + 30% HRA per month
Tenure: One Year

Age relaxation for SC/ST/ OBC candidate as per Govt. of India instruction.

Engagement is for the project and on behalf of the funding agency and the tenure shall be as mentioned above. The duration of the post is initially for one Year or till the closing date of the project, which ever is earlier. Tenure may be extendable up to project duration. Contract may be terminated any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any CSIR/IGIB post.

How to Apply:
The eligible applicant can apply for maximum of two projects and the candidate has to email their resume in "MS word" format directly to hrd@igib.res.in by 28-11-11. No application would be entertained with "result awaited" status or after due date.

(In subject line of the email please mention: "<Project Code> application for <Post Name>Dec 2011" example: : GAP0069application for Project Assistant Dec 2011 ). Kindly write correct project code and format otherwise application will not reach to the concern department.

The email will be sent to the short listed candidates.

No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates to attend the interview. The engagement shall be as per guidelines of CSIR/Funding agency. Candidates will have option to give reply in Hindi.

Note: The shortlisted candidates, who have received the email for interview, have to report at 09:30 AM for interview along with any Photo ID card and original certificates for entry purpose.Entry will be closed by 10:15 AM.
