North-Eastern Hill University was set up by an Act of Parliament and notified on 19th July 1973. The objectives of the University, as laid down in the act, are "to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; to pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people of the hill areas of the North-eastern region, and in particular, the intellectual, academic and cultural advancement".

Post: Project Fellow

Application on plain paper with bio-data for applicant possessing the required qualifications (M.Sc. in Zoology/Biochemistry and preferably specialization in Parasitology/Biochemistry) are invited for the post of Project Fellow (Rs. 14.000/- p.m. fixed) in the UGC funded Research Project entitled "Studies on the pharmacological properties of Lysimachia ramosa and its active component(s)" sanctioned tor a period of 3 years.

Desirous candidates may appear lor a walk-in-interview (with full particulars of their bio-data and original certificates) on Monday, the 27th May 2013 at 11.00 AM in the Department of Zoology. No TA/DA would bo paid in this regard.
