The Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, was established on October 20,1995 by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana with the objectives 'to facilitate and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-conventional energy sources and management studies and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields'. It was formally inaugurated on November 1, 1995. It is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint environmentalist of 15th century. Keeping in view the nature of courses offered at the university and the mandate for which it had been established the name of the university has been changed as Guru Jambheshwar university of Science & Technology.

The UGC’s/State Govt./University qualifications will be applicable for the above posts. The qualifications and specializations for each post have been hosted on University website. The prescribed application form alongwith a copy of qualifications may be obtained from the Assistant Registrar(Faculty) for all teaching posts(Sr.No.i to viii) and from the Assistant Registrar(Estt.) for non-teaching posts(Sr.No.ix to xiii) on all working days or downloaded from the University website. The candidates may obtain application form by depositing `600/- (`150/- for SC/BC) on the University counter and `650/- (`200/- for SC/BC) by post in case of teaching posts {`500(`125/- for SC/BC) and `550/-(`175/- for SC/BC) in case of non-teaching posts} through demand draft in favour of the Registrar, GJUS&T, Hisar payable at Hisar. The request for sending application form under registered posts will be entertained upto 21.05.2012. The candidates downloading the application form are required to remit the above cost with the application form. The application form duly filled-in alongwith API based Performance Based Appraisal System(PBAS) proforma and attested copies of certificates (matric onwards) for teaching posts should reach the office of Assistant Registrar (Faculty) and for non-teaching posts to the Assistant Registrar (Establishment) of this University latest by 31.05.2012. Incomplete applications and those not on prescribed form or without fee will be summarily rejected. The candidates must be eligible on the last date for submission of application form. Those who have already applied in response to University Advt. No. 1/2007 and 2/2008 for the post of Professor, Reader, Lecturer and Advt.No.3/2011 for the post of Reader and Assistant Professor for Academic Staff College should apply afresh according to latest qualifications/instructions, as the applications invited earlier stand cancelled keeping in view the latest qualifications prescribed by the UGC/AICTE. The University reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts or it may not fill any of the posts advertised without assigning any reason. Those who are in service should send application through proper channel. Benefit of reservation and concession in application fee is applicable to the candidates from Haryana only. The University may shortlist the candidates based on certain criteria if the number of applications happens to be large for any post.

PROFESSOR
(i) Essential
1. A basic degree in pharmacy (B.Pharma.)
2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
3. A Ph.D. degree with First class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy, and experience of ten years in teaching, research, industry and/or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade;
OR
(ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
1. First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy; and
2. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy and industrial/ professional experience of five years at a senior level comparable to Assistant Professor/ Reader.
Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the Vice Chancellor of the University.
iii Desirable:
1. Teaching, industrial research and/or professional experience in a reputed organization;
2. Published work, such as research papers, patents filed/ obtained, books, and/or technical reports;
3. Experience of guiding the project work, dissertation of post graduate or research students or supervising R&D projects in industry;
4. Demonstrated leadership in planning and organizing academic, research, industrial and/or professional activities; and
5. Capacity to undertake/lead sponsored R&D, consultancy and related activities.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
i. Essential
1. A basic degree in pharmacy(B.Pharma.)
2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.
3. A Ph.D. degree with First class at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy, and experience of eight years in teaching, research, industry and/or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade; excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree.
OR
ii In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential:
1. First Class Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy;
2. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy and industrial/ professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of Lecturer,
