CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), a multidisciplinary multilocational research laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) invites applications from enthusiastic, young and dynamic Indian Nationals having excellent academic record/proven scientific achievements and the ability to undertake R&D in an innovative way for the following posts of Scientists/ Sr. Scientists in the areas as given below:
Position 2: Scientist / Sr. Scientist (Plant Biochemistry/Plant Biotechnology)
in Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100* (01 post Unreserved-UR)
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. submitted in the area of Plant Biochemistry/Plant Biotechnology for Scientist OR Ph.D. in the area of Plant Biochemistry/Plant Biotechnology with two years postdoctoral research experience in related area for Senior Scientist.
Desirable Qualification: Two years of postdoctoral research experience in the area of Plant Biochemistry/Plant Biotechnology as evident with publications in high impact journals and / or international patents. Specialization in protein purification, gene cloning, development and analysis of transgenics.
Job Requirement : To work in the area of Plant Biochemistry/Plant Biotechnology.
Likely place of work : CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow
Age limit: Upto 32 years for Scientist / 37 years for Senior Scientist.
Position 3: Scientist / Senior Scientist (Structural Chemistry)
in Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100* (01 post Unreserved-UR)
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. submitted in the area of Crystallography for Scientist OR Ph.D in the area of Crystallography with minimum two years postdoctoral research experience in related area for Senior Scientist.
Desirable Qualification: Minimum two years postdoctoral experience in the area of Crystallography, preferably experience in peptide synthesis and structural studies and Bioinformatics as evident with publications in high impact journals and /or international patent(s)
Job Requirement: To work in the area of Bio-Crystallography of medicinal and aromatic plants.
Likely place of work : CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow
Age limit : Upto 32 years for Scientist / 37 years for Senior Scientist.
Position No. 6: Scientist / Senior Scientist (Publications) in Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100* (01 post Unreserved -UR)
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. submitted in the area of Botany/Chemistry/Biochemistry for Scientist OR
Ph.D. in the area of Botany/Chemistry/Biochemistry with two years postdoctoral research experience in related area for Senior Scientist.
Desirable Qualification: One year experience in editing and printing of scientific documents / research journals and popular journals, etc as evident with research publications and/or past/current job profile.
Job Requirement :To help in scientific publications/documentation of CSIR-CIMAP.
Likely place of work: CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow
Age limit : Upto 32 years for Scientist / 37 years for Senior Scientist.
(*Positioning of the candidate as Scientist or Senior Scientist for positions No. 01 to 06 in terms of a particular grade i.e. Grade Pay Rs.6600/- OR Rs.7600/- in PB-3 (15600-39100) shall be done by the Selection Committee depending upon performance of the candidate subject to meeting the minimum criterion specified.)

GENERAL CONDITIONS:
(1)All the posts carry usual allowances at the same rates as are admissible
to the Central Government employees at the place of posting. Higher initial pay could be considered for exceptionally meritorious and deserving candidates on the basis of recommendations of the Selection Committee.
(2) The selected candidates will be governed by the provisions of the New Pension Scheme as introduced by the Government of India and as adopted by CSIR effective from 01.01.2004.
(3) Relaxation in age limit, qualification and/or experience may be considered by the competent authority as per rules in exceptional cases
(4) Persons employed in Government/Government undertakings/Autonomous bodies are required to submit their applications through proper channel and with a clear certificate from respective employee that the applicant will be relieved in case of selection, within one month of receipt of offer of appointment.
(5) Persons desirous to apply for more than one post may submit separate application for each post with separate application fee.
(6) The selected persons
should be ready to serve at any of the offices/Research Centres of CSIR-CIMAP located at Lucknow, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pantnagar, Purara (Distt. Bageshwar) or at any place of posting in India as per need of CSIR-CIMAP R&D activities.
(7) Upper age limit is relaxable as indicated against the post.
(8) Relaxation in age limit up to five years may be allowed to the Council/Government/ Autonomous Bodies/Public Sector employees in accordance with the instructions and orders issued by the Government of India from time to time in this regard.
(9)Relaxaton of upper age limit for Ex-servicemen is admissible as per rules.
(10) Relaxation in the upper age limit of 5 years is applicable for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J&K during the period of 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 subject to production of relevant certificate from concerned authority.
(11) Relaxation in the upper age limit for Physically Handicapped will be 5 years, over and above SC/ST/OBC as the case may be.
(12) Special Age Relaxation: upto the age of 40 years in the case of Widows, Divorced Women and Women Judicially separated from their husbands, who are not re-married.
(13) Relaxation in age, qualification and/or experience may be permitted if sufficient number of candidates possessing the requisite qualification and/or experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts.
(14) SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates are required to produce the certificate in the prescribed format signed by the specified authority at time of interview. The OBC candidate should produce the certificate valid for appointment of posts under the Central Government.
(15) The upper age limit will be reckoned as on 25 April 2012 which is relaxable as per Government orders in force from time to time.
(16) The period of experience in the requisite discipline/area of work wherever prescribed, shall be counted with effect from the date of acquiring the prescribed minimum educational qualifications required for the post.
(17) The cut off date for determining the qualification and experience of a candidate will be the last date of receipt of applications.
(18) The physically handicapped persons fulfilling the prescribed qualifications and experience are also encouraged to apply.
(19) Mere fulfillment of essential educational qualifications & experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for Interview. The decision of CSIR-CIMAP/CSIR in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, mode of selection, conduct of interview will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained
in this connection from any candidate or his/her agency.
(20) Incomplete applications and applications not supported by attested copies of certificates of educational qualifications, experience certificate, community certificate, testimonials, list of publications, reprints and application fee are liable to be summarily rejected.
(21) Candidates of Indian origin settled abroad of proven merit, as evidenced by their research work/publications, if found suitable for the post applied, may be considered by the Selection Committee, In Absentia, on specific request of the candidate.
(22) Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro single second-class rail fare/ordinary bus fare from the normal place of their residence or that declared in the application or from the actual place of undertaking the journey, in India, whichever is nearer to the place of interview, as per rules.
(23) Canvassing in any form and bringing in influence political or otherwise will be treated as disqualification.
The prescribed application form for the above posts issued by CIMAP is available on CIMAP website which can be downloaded from www.cimap.res.in OR it can be obtained from the Administrative Officer, Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Post Office-CIMAP, Lucknow- 226015, India by sending a self addressed & stamped envelope of 23x10 cms. Size, indicating number of Advertisement, Position No. and Name of the post applied for, affixing a postal stamp worth Rs. 10/- by 20th April, 2011.
Applications on prescribed form duly completed in all respects alongwith a recent passport size photograph, attested copies of certificates of educational qualification, experience certificate, reprints of published papers, community certificate (in the case of SC/ST/OBC etc.) and application fee of Rs. 100/- (US $ 25 in case candidate is applying from abroad) only for general and OBC category candidates (no fee is payable by the candidates belonging to SC/ST community, Physically Handicapped persons and regular employees of CSIR) through an a/c payee Bank Draft issued by State Bank of India (SBI) with a six months validity, drawn in favour of Director, Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow OR Director, CIMAP, Lucknow payable at State Bank of India, Main Branch, Lucknow should be sent to the Administrative Officer, CIMAP, Post Office-CIMAP, Lucknow so as to reach us on or before 25th April 2012. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
