IICB Institute was established in 1935 as the first non official centre in India for biomedical research and was included within the aegis of CSIR in 1956.
IICB today is engaged in research on diseases of national importance and biological problems of global interest, employing sophisticated state-of-the-art technology in keeping with the rapid and unprecedented momentum that life science research has gained globally over the last 50 years.
IICB is one of the major institutes in India which initiated, right from its inception, multidisciplinary concerted efforts for conducting basic research on infectious diseases, specifically leishmaniasis and cholera, along with the development of technologies for the diagnosis, immunoprophylaxis, and chemotherapy of the diseases.

Essential Qualification: Ph.D in Synthetic Organic Chemistry.
Desirable Qualification / Experience: 2 years postdoctoral research experience on development of asymmetric catalysts and synthesis of bioactive chiral molecules with strong knowledge in NMR, MS and other spectrospcopic methods.
Job requirement: The candidate is expected to work in projects on organic synthesis and participate in various other topics akin to the activity of the Institute.
Age Limit: 32 years for Principal Scientist and 37 years for Senior Principal Scientist.
Reservation Status: Unreserved.
Pay Band: Rs. 15,600-39,100/-
Grade Pay: The Selection Committee depending upon the performance of the candidate may choose to place the candidate in any of the Grade Pay (Rs. 6,600/- Or Rs. 7,600/-) within the Pay Band subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criterion specified.
Total Emoluments: The total monthly emoluments at this level inclusive of all allowances would be approximately between Rs. 56,385/- to Rs. 64,725/-
