Post: Analytical Chemistry Summer
Job Description:
-Within Analytical Science at Macclesfield (Cheshire), we have a number of 8-12 week summer placement opportunities for chemistry students to commence in June 2011.
-Analytical Scientists work with Chemical Scientists and Formulation Scientists to develop and scale-up processes to support the development of new drugs. Students placed over the summer will work under the supervision of a Senior Analytical Scientist to develop appropriate analytical tools to support the development of new chemical processes or formulations.
Candidate profile:
Emphasis is on good practical skills, careful recording and reporting and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with co-workers. Suitable candidates will preferably be in the 3rd or 4th year of their degree and have good marks at university, achieving overall grades not less than 2:1 to date. Excellent practical skills in organic or analytical chemistry are essential
