Applications are invited from Indian citizens for filling up the following vacancies of Group- B & C Non-Gazetted ( combatised ) Para Medical Staff in Sashastra Seema Bal. They will be governed under SSB Act and Rules applicable to other members of the Force and other Rules applicable from time to time. On appointment they shall be entitled for the pension benefits as per the “New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme” applicable for the new entrants to the Central Government Services w.e.f. 01-01-2004. The last date of receipt of application is 20-07-2011. However the closing date for receipt of applications (by post) for the candidates from North-Eastern States, Sikkim, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur Districts of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh Division, Kashmir of J&K State and the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep will be 27-07-2011.

Relaxation:
(a) The upper age limit up to 05 years is also relaxable in case of candidates already in Govt. service.
[b] The above concession will be admissible only where an employee has rendered not less than 3 (three) years regular and continuous service in Govt. Deptt. as on closing date of application.
(c) Every Ex-Serviceman who has put in not less than six months continuous service in the Armed Forces of the Union, shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit. However, break in service should not be more than two years.
(d) The Relaxation in upper age limit of 5 years shall also be admissible to all posts mentioned in Para-1 for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989. The candidate will have to produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector to claim relaxation in age.
(e) Five years of age relaxation will also be granted to the children and dependent family members of those killed in the 1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat. Children mean (a) Son (including adopted son): or (b) Daughter (including adopted daughter) Dependent family members mean: (a) Spouse; or (b) Children; or Brother or Sister in the case of unmarried Govt. servant who was wholly dependent on the Govt. servant at the time of his killing in the riot. The candidate will have to produce a certificate to the effect, issued by the concerned District Collector to claim relaxation in age.
(f) Children and dependent family members of those killed in the riots (1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat) will also produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector.
(g) In addition to above upper age is further relaxable by 5 years in respect of SC/ST and 3 years in respect of OBC candidates as per Govt. orders. The crucial date for determining the age limit will be the closing date of receipt of application from the candidates i.e. 20-07-2011. The candidate must fulfill all the conditions of recruitment on or before 20-07-2011
ASI (Pharmacist )
i) Should have passed 10+2 With science or equivalent from a recognized Board/ Institution .
ii) Should have Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy granted by an institution of central or State Government or an institution recognized by the Central government or State Government.
iii). Should be registered as a pharmacist under the pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948).

METHOD OF SELECTION :-
The candidate who is found eligible in all respect as per eligibility conditions prescribed for the posts applied for will be called for recruitment test. The exact date, time and venue of recruitment test will be intimated to the eligible candidates through admit card.
The candidates will have to under go the following recruitment process/tests:
a) Physical Measurement::- The candidate will under go initial physical screening test to conform to the prescribed physical standard of height, chest and weight as mentioned in para -4 above
b) Physical Efficiency Test (PET) :- Those who are found fit in the initial physical screening i.e. physical measurement
c) Written Exams:
Paper - I
Max. Marks -100
Duration - 2 Hours.
i) General English - 50 Marks
ii) General Knowledge- 50 Marks
Paper- II
Max. Marks -100
Duration : 2 Hours.
Professional/Technical knowledge
trade test - 100 Marks
i) The minimum qualifying marks of written test in each paper are 50% for General/Exservicemen and 40% for SC/ST/OBC categories.
ii) The standard of written test would be as per required minimum educational qualification and professional qualification.
d) INTERVIEW : All candidates who qualify in written test for the post of ASI (Pharmacist)
Max Interview marks: 25
Interview will be qualifying in nature.
However, candidates have to score aggregate 50% Marks in written Examination and interview for General and Ex- servicemen Category and 40% marks for SC/ST and OBC category.
e) MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Candidates who qualify the Written test & Interview ( as applicable ) will be put through detailed medical examination as per the vacancies and average failure rate strictly on the basis of merit.
f) APPEAL AGAINST FINDINGS OF MEDICAL EXAMINATION If a candidate is declared unfit in the detailed medical examination, the grounds for rejection will be communicated to him by the Chairman. The rejected candidates will obtain Form 4, 5 & 6 from the Chairman concerned, if not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Officer/Medical Board, to prefer an appeal for Reviewmedical examination to Inspector General (Pers.), SSB Force HQ, R.K.Puram, New Delhi, within 30 days from the date of issue of communication in which the findings of the Medical Officer/Medical Board is communicated to the candidate. The appeal should necessarily contain the following ; (a) Review Medical Examination fee of Rs.25/- (Rupees twenty five) only non refundable, through a Bank Draft/ IPO in favour of “PAO, SSB (MHA), New Delhi”, (b) Appeal Form 4, 5 & 6 issued by the Initial Medical Board declaring the candidate as Unfit, (c) One self addressed envelope with Rs.22/- postage stamp duly affixed on it. Certificate other than Medical Form – 6 (provided by the Chairman of Recruitment Board to the Candidates) to submit appeal for Review Medical Examination will not be considered and rejected straightway. The fitness certificate on Form-6 is essential to consider their cases for review medical examination and not for any other purpose.
Those candidates whose appeal found in order will be issued call letters to appear for Review Medical Examination and their list will also be uploaded in the SSB Website www.ssb.rectt.gov.in. The decision of the Review Medical Board of SSB will be final and no 2nd appeal will be entertained as per Govt. instructions and also no reply of the correspondence / 2nd appeal will be given / entertained.
