The Paterson Institute for Cancer Research is a leading cancer research institute within The University of Manchester, core funded by Cancer Research UK, the largest independent cancer research organisation in the world.
The Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) has been established in The University of Manchester following the transfer of the Paterson Research Institute to the University.
Research spans the whole spectrum of cancer research, from programmes investigating molecular and cellular basis of cancer, to those focussed on translational research and development of therapeutics.

Translational Scientist Project Manager

Salary in the range of £40,000 – £60,000
A senior post is available immediately to join the Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology Group to provide oversight, scientific input, project development and co-ordination of an extensive portfolio of circulating and tissue based biomarker based clinical studies. The successful candidate will join a substantial team working in state-of-the-art translational science laboratories. You will have experience in pharmacology and biomarker-related translational science gained within either the private or academic sectors. With a broad technical skill set applied to assay development and validation, you’ll be adept at working within a multi-disciplinary team with clinical colleagues and with the pharmaceutical industry. You will be familiar with Good Clinical Practice for Laboratories and possess excellent managerial prowess. The post is for 5 years in the first instance.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D in biological sciences and significant relevant post-doctoral experience gained in Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology Company Sector and/or Academia.
