The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Post: Assistant Professor, Teaching Assistant- Pharmacology
Assistant Professor of (Pharmacology)
Scale of pay: Rs. 15600-39100+AGP Rs. 6000/-
Qualification: Ph.D. in Pharmacology with M.Pharm (Pharmacology) obtained after qualifying GPAT from a recognized University/Institute.
Experience: At least two years post doctoral teaching and research experience in the relevant field in a UGC recognized Institute of repute. Proof of research in Pharmacology through International publications of high impact factor and citation index.
Note: NET qualified candidate in addition to the above qualification will be given preference.
Teaching Assistant (Pharmacology)
Against Vacancy of Assistant Professor. On contract extendable upto 3 years with a consolidated salary between 30,000 to 45,000 pm.
Qualification: Ph.D. in Pharmacology with M. Pharm. (Pharmacology) obtained after GPAT from a recognized University/Institute.
Experience: At least one year under graduate teaching and adequate research experience in the relevant field in a UGC recognized Institute of repute.
Proof of research in Pharmacology through International publications of high impact factor.
